now that i have the dakars installed, im looking into options for bringing the front up a bit (custom front hybrid bumper build will be starting this spring). currently running stock coils with 5100s. any suggestions on coils on the cheaper end of the scale that will bring me closer to rear height? a bunch of guys here said to just run some spacers but not really wanting shitty spacer lift

Not enough to have a build thread.
5100s on a loaded setting are very similar to a preload spacer. I don't think it's as bad as a lot of people say.

But on another note, I'm thinking about doing the 5100s and eibachs. Won't ride like kings or anything, but will give an adjustable lift height without a spacer. And like other springs, i believe you can get different rated eibach springs to accommodate extra weight.

agree with Don here, and to add to it you could get a ticket for the use of off road lights in most city's. the switch is the only way they should be wired up. like don is saying, there bright as fuck and you don't want to blind a cop as your backing up, or even just putting it into park "if auto", really piss off the hwy patrol if you get pulled over. lol
I though long and hard about doing the same , putting it on the reverse light wire, and found to many cons vs pros.
If your set on that route there is always the tow harness if your looking for a reverse wire. if your truck has a tow harness the wire is already there at the bumper.

the cons with spacers is you loose up travel and shock will bottom out before you hit bump stops causing shit to break real quick on any bumps even speed bumps, you could space the bump stops down to stop that but then you will still loose up travel. with very little up travel its going to ride like shit. even on the street.

Great story, bro, but this is the Nor Cal Spotted and BS thread.
That red line is a generally accepted demarcation of the boundary for Nor Cal - So Cal. Why'd you do it?

I went to this whole lift and love the ride. I couldn't be happier. I will change rear spring packs later when I start getting heavy with toys and other

Plus the switch allows you to use them at will as work/task lights at dark sites or for dealing with trailers and the like.
