OK. I can't wait 2 more months for the iPad to come to Canada so I'm doing a road trip to Bangor (I'm such a geek!).

It's 360 miles round trip. Do I take my wifes 4cyl Rav4 or do I say "screw it" and do the road trip in my Taco and spend more on gas?

    :D

whatever is more comfortble. I say drive the Rav4 if you can, if not then the taco. I drive a beat up 02 Corolla most of the time just to save on gas. It has a blown speaker, missing hubcap, fading paint, and no tint, but I deal with it in order to save money.

first: why so much effort for a non innovative piece of technology
second: why does it matter which vehicle you use, its 700 miles, if you want to save gas drive the rav4 otherwise who cares...

you can always buy one on ebay...

    360 miles...

Say you average 20mpg in the taco and 30mpg in the RAV4 (20 is low, probably, and 30 is high... so this is a really conservative estimate)

You'd only be saving 6 gallons of gas in the RAV 4... at $2.75/gal it's $16.50.

Using more realistic numbers... You can probably get 23mpg in the truck (I do on interstate trips) and the RAV 4 is probably more like 28mpg (per Yahoo Autos). Now you're only saving 2.8 gallons... at $2.75, that's just $7.70 saved.

    DRIVE THE TRUCK!

Yeah, its nothing but an ipod touch, or iphone just bigger. nothing cool about it. i was super excited about it but when i realised you cant do shit you can do on my touch, its not worth it. 4 apps per row, really? did they just take the ipod touch's OS and put it in that?

i say drive the rav4. i love my truck but i'd rather have something more comfortable and with more fancy gadgets for long trips. having said that, i have to ask, why in the shit would you even want an ipad, much less drive so far to get one? i agree they are kinda neat but looking at it from a nerd stand point its kinda shitty. if you are dead set on one i'd definitely wait for the 3g version

OMG its an awesome device! Well worth the trip. I'm sending this message on the iPad. Very easy to type on and the text on this website is MUCH easier to read than it is on my iPhone.

I had to buy one this month because the year end for my research account is April 30th and it's not being reeled in Canada for quite some time.

I drove down in my Taco and enjoyed every moment!
