I agree, but I've noticed a few dealers around here don't tend to order the Aisin for lot inventory, I see quite a few with the 68RFE option. Depends on the dealer really, seems the scummier ones (is such a thing possible with Ram dealers?, aren't they all pretty scummy?) don't option the Aisin to keep the price point lower.

The clue that the 68RFE is a "consumer" grade transmission vs. a real work horse is the fact that you can only get the Aisin or the G56 manual in the 4500/5500 series trucks. Those are 19,000 GVWR trucks, and Ram won't put the 68RFE in them.

I'd like a Ram Mega Cab, but I'm honestly thinking about the gasser over the Cummins. I really don't want to deal with the stupid emissions crap, and deleting it sounds like a hassle (along with the death of the 5/100k warranty on the engine.) But the powwwaaahhhhh is hard to resist......

They stock the 68RFE for the people that fall in love with the new Dodge/Ram marketing and want a full size truck that drives like a car (Tundra competitor). It’s much easier to get someone into a 40k truck versus a 70k diesel. My truck was stickered at 71k (wth!).

People have been getting worked up about the emission stuff forever. Even with the emission stuff on my 2017, I still have a truck that produces 903ftlb of torque. It can haul 20k at the hitch and more as a goose neck. I think the gas is a viable option. I’ll be towing heavy more frequently in the future. My 3500 is overkill and I know it. I’m tired of buying something then needing to upgrade. This is a lifetime truck. I don’t have a need to EGR/DEF delete st this point nor do I want to chip it.

I haven’t 0-60d it save for entering the freeways, but I don’t need to hot rod it. Not it’s job. I can say cruising at 72mph (no cruise control) and getting 22mpg on a new engine is really impressive. Coming from a Tundra then to a Tacoma then to the Ram... I laugh as the mileage difference. I’m not disappointed.

Oops. Forgot to mention I still have a brand new, never used PrInSu cabrac to sell.

    Powder coated black.

    No cutout in the deflector.

This was made and shipped by Zach before he sold his business.

I've got a Front Runner Cabrac I'm looking to sell or work out a trade for a Prinsu.

Rack doesn't work with my new hardshell RTT, owned for about 3 months.

And I have a set of awning brackets. Also anodized black.

I’m going through PMs with some coffee. Give me a bit to find out who was first...

$750? The rack is in Seattle right now, but the mounting interface for the Tacoma rack I left in Portland by mistake when I took it off. Wooooops.

I'm going to go down early next week and pick them up (heading to CA) and can drop them in the mail.

Feel free to make an offer as well.

I soured on DEF-equipped diesels after our BMW X5 experience. The DEF tanks (it had 2) both needed to be replaced due to sensor failures. Thankfully that happened before the 70k mile emission warranty ran out, otherwise we'd have been out of pocket for $4,000. That's about the only good thing that has come from WA adopting CA emission laws, extended emission warranty coverage. I also had to change out an EGR butterfly valve. What clown thinks that EGR is a good thing, even more so on a diesel with the increased carbon/soot potential, is beyond me. I did that work myself, but the part was still a few hundred dollars due to the "BMW tax".

We have a gasser X5 now, and other than the dip in fuel economy, MUCH happier.....
