    Installed remote start last week, works great and I am very happy. Anyone know if there is a way to wire in a pin switch for the hood to disable the remote start when hood is opened?

    Just installed this weekend. So easy to do and works amazing! Great product.

    Not really. Sometimes holding remote up to your chin will help, but that's about it. You're limited to what Toyota did with their remotes. That's why it's worth getting the SmartStart module so you can use your cell phone to start the truck so now I can start it anywhere in the country if I wanted too

    I pay $90 a year and yes I installed it myself. There are a lot of good write ups in this forum that describes how to do it.

    which smart start do you have?

    I believe the part number is VSM200. Yes, kb voodoo kit super easy. It took me maybe 4 hours and I carefully stripped all the wires and soldered everything and took my time to locate the wires. Super easy, but if you're not comfortable it shouldn't be expensive to pay someone to do it since it's only 9 wires and you will have all the directions for them
