A/C doesn't always mean cold air.

I hated that and took care of it during the 1st week I owned the truck. There is a wire you can cut (AC MOD) that will just let you only run the AC (compressor) when you push the button.

    Do a search for it..

What is the position of the air mode switch when this happens? This is the switch on the far right.

Edit: the 2009 and 2010 models are different from older Taco's. The newer trucks have logic to automatically control fogging and I'm guessing that is the OP's issue.

I've never had that happen. When you say the a/c button comes on do you mean the air conditioning actually comes on or just the a/c button lights up?

exactly. I always run my AC in the winter time with the heat. It keeps the windows from fogging up. I have done it on every vehicle I have ever owned. I really can't tell the difference in heat when the AC is on vs. off.

Seems like everyone thinks this!! And I would have to agree, seems to me that you just have to push it and it should just turn off.
