So when I first bought my truck it did that exact same thing, likely because the previous owner didn’t use that door often(rear passenger). Same as you I cleaned/lubed up all moving parts but it didn’t seem to fix anything right away. Over the course of a few months using that door multiple times per day it has fixed itself. It hasn’t gotten hung up in months. I remember vividly how aggravating it was when the latch would hang and it sounds like you slammed the door like an idiot.

Yep! My wife cringes then just grins as I get pissed haha. I have lubed it and use it often and still no luck. Maybe I need to tear the door panel off and clean it really good and lube it up. I’m out of any other ideas at this point...

My dad teaches special education math at a high school and he loves helping the kids but is trying to build up his other business so he can retire from teaching. He hates the amount of paperwork they want him to fill out for every student he has and how little the school system acknowledges the amount of work he does for the kids. They ask him why some of the kids are so far behind where the school thinks they should be and they have to use a calculator on simple addition problems. It takes a special person with a lot of patience to teach special ed classes/students so I applaud you.

I can't believe this goddamn truck doesn't have a low gas light. It was just missing from the cluster. It's also missing the A/T temperature light.

I'm custom making gauge faces to indicate if the truck is in 4HI or 4LO to replace the unused ABS and RR DIFF LOCK I don't have on my truck. I will be using the transfer case position sensors to send a positive switching signal to the dash to light up.

It was a California truck for most of its life but I believe its been in Indiana for 3 or 4 years. I constantly wash the frame and get out any dirt or salt that makes its way inside the frame. I also Fluid Film it 2-3 times a year so its almost always coated, I get lazy in the summers sometimes with not doing it. I plan on buying one of those inspection cameras so I can seen into the frame easier to make sure nothing is in there even though water runs through it just fine (I'm crazy I know). Just staying ahead of the rust and washing the salt off weekly has been the plan. It'll only be my daily for another year or two until I graduate and get a full size, then I can get crazy and pull the bed and cab and do some major rust proofing and frame stiffening (again I know I'm crazy).

Hey, we are not crazy, from my first truck at 18 years old I border on being OCD, but to me, my truck was costly to purchase and I know what it took me to earn the money to buy it. I just wish the day I bought my Tacoma I would have known about Fluid Film. I bet if I didn't care so much I would be given a new frame. I was talking to my brother and he knows someone who drove his truck into the ocean just to accelerate the frame corrosion, in the hope of getting a free frame replacement.

I've turned chalky pink cars back to showroom RED. Better living through chemicals! Get yourself some cleaners & polishes & clay bar & wax & an open day off & a shady spot & have at it. Unless there's no paint left, it can be brought back. Taking it to a detailer is really a bargain when you do the time/cost calculations, but I enjoy that sort of work with specific in your face results. Don't forget shiny paint on an old truck is worth 5-10 hp.

Thankfully I did find out about fluid film right away and got it coated immediately. My friends look at me like I'm a nut case for caring and dumping money into my truck but that's because they aren't car/truck people.

I ended up going with the Rago Fabrication mounts. Apparently, they don’t require any trimming.
