Sadly, I have not. It's too cold here to do this project outside and I don't have access to a heated garage. So I have no idea when I'll be able to get to it.

Does Crutchfield offer the same model Kicker speakers for the Gen 2?

Ordered the same exact setup as the OP and finally have everything installed. It's been freezing here and I don't have a warm workspace, so I ended up doing the tweeters myself (super easy like everyone says) and having my local stereo shop do the speakers and Noico as I didn't think I had the patience for that piece, I saw one guy on here who said it was 6 hours and I'm guessing it would have been the same for me.

Sounds incredible. Sound rattles the side view mirrors and is bass is crisp and clean. Might add a sub down the road, but for now it's a night and day difference vs. the stock speakers and I'm glad I found this thread.

Also awesome to not have to turn the stereo up to 97% of max volume when you have a window cracked to hear anything.

If anyone is looking to upgrade, this is a perfect time. Just placed my order on Crutchfield and it came out to be be $126.98 for front and rear speakers!

Any reason not to get Rockford Fosgate Primes?

    Tweeters, 6x9 3-ways, and 6.5 3-ways for $114 out the door?

None that I can think of - in my case, I loved the easy plug-n-play of the Kicker / Subaru Tweeters. Was so happy with the quality just decided to do all Kickers for the 4 door speakers. Sounds great though! Let us know how the RFs do if you buy then though - options are nice!

Another data point for everyone...on my '18 OR DCSB.

I did the Subaru/Kicker tweeter upgrade after a couple days of ownership. I installed the left only at first and listened to both sides left vs right. IMO, it wasn't as night-and-day different as I was hoping they'd be after reading all of the praises. That said, the left new tweeter might be messed up (or my left ear) because it doesn't sound as bright as the new right side tweeter. Hmmmm...

A week or so later I installed the Crutchfield setup (43CSC674 & 43CSC6934). The night before, I spent about an hour putting felt tape around the mounts and fiddling w/the screws to get the speakers into the plastic mount rings. The 6x9s were a pain but they seem tight for now...if they rattle, I'll have to pull them and put silicone or use better screws or something. Spent about 1:30 (taking my time) watching the OEM Audio video to install the whole system into the truck. Again, I started with the left side only and these are my observations:
    - Bass is deeper and tighter
    - Mids are a lot cleaner
    - Overall, the sound is less muddy/messy and with deeper bass
I was a little worried about these speakers being too much for the stock head unit, but (in my driveway) they seem plenty loud and clean. Would highly recommend. IMO, I think the 4 speakers were worth the time and money, maybe even more so than the tweeters.

Question for you guys..I installed all my Noico today and then the front speakers. I went with Infinity Reference Series linked a few pages back. They sound much better highs and mids but I feel like there is no more low end at all. I've been reading that the stock HU has a bass drop off, so after a certain volume the bass wont be going up with the volume if that makes sense. I got a sub and amp waiting to be put in, but I'd like to improve the speaker low end a bit also is there any way to disable that?

Right?! I don't mind the cold so much if we have snow on the ground. But this is just brutal. I have no idea when I'll get to this project. It may be Spring at this point. lol

If anyone is interested in the tweeters I just took a pair off before I traded my Taco. Only used 2 months.

Wish I could help.. the kicker 6x9s have plenty of low end such that most won’t add a sub. Bass is linear all the way to the top with no drop off on my truck. Let us know if you get to the bottom of it
