Any decent space heater can be left unattended these days. They have built in shut offs if they get knocked over and a thermostat but are very inefficient.

If your only real concern is the dogs, you might want to consider building a smaller kennel or dog house sort of thing. You can insulate the floor, walls and ceiling of it and that small of a space can be heated with a light bulb or 2. Throw in some blankets and they have a cozy dog cave. Just protect the bulb with one of those cages and you're good to go.

 

I had thought about getting them a little hut

 

Sort of. The T fitting was in stock at a local dealer but we couldn't find new O rings for the hoses that mated to it. At NAPA, they found one that was close and is holding but I need to replace it with the correct one once I find it. The closest complete hose was a day away and I only need the O ring.

 

I don't know why I think this, I'm sure it's wrong, but something about a quartz element heater doesn't seem as safe to me as a hydronic heater. I'm sure Mike is right, they all have to be damn safe these days.

How'd it go at the stealership yesterday? You walking funny today, or did you stick with the Jeep you had?

 

Three years until we moved in together, 8 years together before we got married and another 2 before we had the baby.

We need to make sure not to rush into things.
