Yes. RIOT and INTC. They've made some decent gains, but it's long term and of course the taxes eat up a lot of profits through legit trades. Speaking of, who is actually claiming gains on taxes with Crypto? It's my understanding that gains are "actualized" when you convert from crypto to currency/goods, and I'm sure everyone knows any deposit north of $10K gets flagged by your bank. I haven't converted anything to USD yet, just curious how to do this thing semi legit.

Yes, you can. If you put in $1000 and withdraw $500 you can claim your loss. If it's still riding in crypto world you can't.

Can you claim them once you withdraw the funds from your wallet? Technically I haven't earned the money yet because I haven't sold...granted I don't know how taxes work with your stocks either...

Once you withdraw from your wallet and deposit in the bank, you claim your gains. It's kind of gray area, it's not like they send you a tax form. It's on you to report it, but one thing is for sure with Uncle Sugar...don't give him his cut at your own peril. Pro tip: wait until after new years to withdraw anything, as taxes go down next year.

Edit: I read somewhere (maybe reddit) that the feds have been poking around in US based exchanges and probing anyone withdrawing $20K USD or more. I don't know that for a fact, just read it somewhere.

Right - this was my sentiment. Granted I don't think I'll be cashing out till I make enough money for the fed to care lol.

    Coulda, shoulda, woulda here...

Then again...if someone got in at lets say $.05, to make them a millionaire they would've had to have jumped in with around $25k worth...that's alot of change to throw at a then-penny crypto...

That's a Gary Vaynerchuk move. He did it with Bitcoin. Invested $25K when it was $52 a coin.

Think it's got enough oomph to hit BTC numbers in a few years?

And then there is a poor guy who sold XRB at a massive loss. Was at ~0.00086. The person added an extra 0 selling at 0.0001. Meant to set a sell limit im sure. But he sold 7 BTC worth... Or a guy who did similar with another coin and lost like 5 ETH.
