had safelite fix a chip, which they made bit larger for some odd reason. weeks after it started spreading, so i had another glass repair company fix safelite's work. they basically drilled the ends of the cracks so they wouldn't spread. i believe safelite are crooks and are really looking to replace the whole windshield at your expense or your insurance company. tons of reviews about that company out there

They stated to me that If it splits they will replace my windshield at their expense. I have the warranty card in my truck. Just need to give them a call

I'm definitely not sold on Safelite. I had them replace the windshield on my 2006 Scion xB daily driver a while back. They used an aftermarket windshield and seal. When they were done, I told the guy that the seal looked like hell. He said it would straighten out in a few day and if it didn't, they'd replace it. Well, it didn't straighten out (somewhat surprisingly) and they put another windshield in. Same problem. I complained again and they reluctantly agreed to put a factory windshield and seal in. Problem solved. Even though they were very polite, I wasn't impressed with their product at all.

Had same problem with Safelite on my Tacoma. Tech even said their own windshields & seals don’t fit properly. I called my insurance & insisted on factory glass & seal. Explained what tech said, they agreed to replace with factory windshield & seal. Factory windshield even had 2 locating tabs on the upper part to help locate windshield properly. No problems since. I dislike Safelite & their substandard products.

Cuz, cheap glass. You should be able to get it repaired anywhere you want. Insurance companies will try to strong arm you to the cheapest repair for them.

Well because safelite was the one that filled the rock chip and it failed. Now they have to replace it under their own dime. If I go anywhere else I will have to pay out of pocket when it was safelite's repair that failed. I want a free windshield. Lol
