Having been a member of the forum for a little while now and watching other builds, I thought it was time for me to create a thread of my rig and the adventures I endure. Hopefully this will inspire others, as this forum has inspired me.

***I've only had a few minutes to string this together so I will update it as soon as I can.

yes I did. cut out the cross sections of the stock grille, fiberglassed a few studs around the indside, slid the mesh over the studs, and used washers and nuts to hold it on.

My plan is to purchase a RTT this spring for camping trips and mtb enduro races. I wanted to mount it to a set of bed bars because I figured they are easy to install and I could do it myself. However, I didn't want just bed bars, I figured they would look to plain if the RTT is off the truck. I wanted something unique/custom to me. So I went ahead and ordered a set of bed bars from 4xinnovations. Great company to deal with. With the bed bars, I asked for them to send me two pieces of tubing 4' pre-notched. I would used these for extra support and to tie the bed bars together. Then I went ahead and ordered some more tubing from metaldepot.com, purchased a tubing notcher and a metal chop saw from harborfreight. Then I went ahead and starting fabricating pieces to make the bed bars "my own." Everything was welded together with a Lincoln Electric ProMig 140.

Cut and welded some light tabs for the rear and welded some bolts which will hold my hi-lift jack.

    bar 4.jpg

Made some brackets out of 2x2 3/16" angle iron to mount to the front of the bed rails.

This was 100% the reason I bought mine. After hiding in a super wet ground tent all day for the Brian Head Super D / DH race as the family next to me was up in the RTT with the dog playing a rousing game of UNO, my friend and I both vowed never again. RTT was had the next weekend!

If you combine a RTT and a shuttle rack, you get a hella sweet setup.

Been away from the forum for a little bit, failed to update bed rack build as it's finished now. 20180301_160514.jpg 20180301_154845.jpg 20180301_165447.jpg 20180325_123548.jpg
