TRD Pro Grille for $140?

My god that was aggressive. I was pushing so hard I thought I was gonna either shit my pants or break the grill. Neither happened.

 

Well then you didn't push hard enough.

 

Chances are Toyota probably got the initial info on the grills from this thread as Toyota along with other manufacturers tend to troll the bigger forums to see what people are saying about their product and get ahead of wide spread issues that start to arise with their vehicles etc. with this thread being so popular it surely sticks out.

 

Well if Toyota is still reading this than they can go fuck themselves in their greedy asses. Charging $400 for a piece of plastic is pure greed. The black market is borne out of opportunity, and Toyota birthed this one. I'm pretty happy with my $120 eBay grille, so thanks Toyota I guess?

 

So I ended up installing it and painting the letters. It looks good for $100. I’ll stop complaining haha. Not “perfect” but I’ll live with it. Saved me $300+ so screw it.

 

Sometimes a good palm thrust hit is a good thing. Seems to be the way working with valves, getting things lined up, etc. Line it up and give it a good hit, just make sure it is lined up twice.

 

That looks great. What's not "perfect" about it. I'm gonna paint my letters once it warms up.

 

curious on what type of paint did you use?

Mine showed up. Everything good like you'd expect. One tab was broken on the side but should hold up fine. Going to apply clear coat before installing.

 

I’m with ya, no way I was paying $400 for a plastic grill. A lot of other sturdier options in that price point.

 

I’m just being really critical of it. It’s fine haha.

 

I bought krylon fusion satin black. It’s pretty damn close. Close enough that nobody but me will ever notice.

 

Can someone help me out on where to find the letters that a merchant was selling on the forum? I was also want g to buy the tailgate letters.

My grille arrived today from areyourshop-a. 1 day past the time allotted. But that's fine by me. No broken tabs.

 

Ordered Dec 23rd from areyourshop, arrived today, holy crap that was quick! I was totally shocked when it was at my front door! Opened it up and it was in perfect condition. Yes stick on letters but that's fine by me. Nothing a little epoxy won't hold. Overall very satisfied, hopefully installing tomorrow.

 

I purchased and installed. The letters went on easy and they are staying on so far with the temp down around 15 at night. Been on for a couple of weeks. Offers a replacement warranty if they fail to look good.
