does anyone know if there is a write up on swapping out side mirrors on a 2011 off road dc to 12+ turn signal mirrors? Do i have to switch out the harness or run wires for the signal to work? Been searching and couldn’t find one.

I’ll probably try to buy the side mirrors on eBay, the wiring for the turn signal is mostly what im wondering about. Do i have to run a set of wires and tap into a few places? Or is it already wired up to where it’s plug and play and the signals work?

Jbaker the sport taco never came with heated mirrors only the turn signal lights, the third gen ones do but don’t quite line up correctly. Now you don’t need another set of mirrors you can use your own like I did, the mirrors have a cover on them, if you move the glass a bit you will see the tabs. Releasing the tab you see will allow you to use a trim tool to pry the cover off. Once off you will see where the lights go and you can purchase colour match covers from the dealer. Lights can be had at any wrecking yard as they were in sienna’s and rav 4s from 2010 upwards or usually eBay out of China for a quarter of what the dealers wants. You just have to run the wires to the plugin in the door panel as the wiring for the lights are already installed. Now for heated mirrors I got a kit from Up2NoGood, very professional built and plug and play with an electronic timer set for 5 min or more if you require it. You can use that switch but it has to be modified to make it a momentary switch, as it is now it’s just on always or on the other way and if you use it with a relay and forget about it the mirrors will stay on and eventually burn out. Mirror glass is a highlander and they snap right in other then you have to fish the wires through it and into the cab.

Thank you for the information, I will continue to search and check out Up2NoGood. I have a camper shell on my truck and when the back glass freezes up its impossible to see behind me. I just can't get used to using a back up camera and the side mirrors are my only hope.
