TRD Pro Grille for $140?

I didn't even clear coat, if it shows age in a couple years I'll honestly just buy another. Would still be much cheaper than 1 OEM grille.

 

I don't really know what you're expecting since you're paying a fraction of the cost.

 

Exactly what he ordered, not a close enough. Order a hamburger and get a chicken burger, well close enough, they're both look the same.

 

He bought something that is illegal to sell and got a product that is 95% of the OEM. I mean the seller is making a good profit but he's assuming some risk and outside of buying the grille from Toyota there's no easy alternatives anyway. Why not just install the grille, no one will ever notice the flaws and if they do they'll think it came from the factory like that.

 

I guess I will judge when mine comes in. From everything that I've seen here the two piece has far less issues than the one piece. My fear is I'll receive a flawed grill and the have to kiss $140 down the toliet. I specifically ask areyourshop if my grill that I was buying was a two piece. He said I would get exactly what was shown in the listing which was a two piece. After I purchased it he switched the listing pictures to show a one piece with a hand full of letters. Pretty dodgy.

 

They likely couldn't keep getting through customs with hundreds of grilles that read TOYOTA so now they ship them unattached. Now flaws I understand and thankfully mine had only minimal ones on some unseen edges. I just don't think 2 pieces are going to be found easy if at all anymore.

 

Just received mine after only 10 days. More than likely yours will require a signature so be on the look out. (I didn't know and missed the first delivery attempt)

I know the original is a two piece grille and this has adhesive letters (that have pins on the back therefore will line up perfectly every time), but I am very satisfied, especially for the price. Mine has some scuffs all the way on the top, as well as one broken clip, but the scuff cannot be seen once the grille is on the truck, and it still holds just fine and doesn't budge at all. Feels like the real thing for sure. I may take it back off and add clear coat to protect it, but no sure on that yet. Overall very satisfied, and that's coming from a major perfectionist... I would absolutely buy again...

 

Sure I can see that but he should have just told me that instead of being deceitful. If I get a perfect one piece I'll be happy but I sure dont want to end up with a box of Chinese condoms.

I ordered areyourshop on the 21st, and was out for delivery today (but no one was home to sign for it) so I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I'll let y'all know how it goes

He has a store on eBay where I purchased the grille lettering. He charges $14.99 and provides an extra letter to experiment with. I did not need it since the letters were so easy to apply. I used a small bowl, about two drops of dish soap with 1/2 cup of warm water. Separate the letters with scissors, wet one letter at a a time with my fingers, roll the backing off, once wet they came of the backing easy, applied on the plastic grille letter and had plenty of time to move the letter around and get it exactly where I wanted. If more time is needed just use our finger to add more soapy water to the letter. Then just lightly apply tapping pressure with a clean lint free cloth absorbing the excess soapy water. 15 minutes later all the letters were applied. They fit right up to the edge but do not go around the sides which is fine. From a foot or so away they look like they are part of the grille. I bought the two piece grille so I had the small lettering insert on a table and applied before I screwed into the main grille. I let it dry for about an hour before I installed the grille on the truck. I highly recommend. Vinyl letters are sold here in the US. So far they look good.

 

I just received one from eBayer named areyourshop-a and can’t be more happy with it. Isn’t the two piece like they have listed on eBay but the grill looks fantastic. Ordered on 22nd Dec and received it on 29th.

 

Ordered mine from areyourshop-a on eBay for $129.99. Ordered on 12/24 and it arrived 12/29. Flawless.
