I still wonder how Amazon makes any money. I bought a set of Lund running boards for my F150. Everyone else was looking for over $200 for the same part number I bought on Amazon. The Amazon price $89 plus tax with free shipping. I honestly expected I'd get (1) running board, but took the gamble. It looks like there's a $50 rebate on top of that dragging the final price to just under $50.

Given how big these things are how do they make any money after shipping?

I got a dynomax exhaust from them... when the rebate was done I made $14.

Items don't move, they just sit in a warehouse. The longer that box sits, the sunk cost grows. At some point it's better to take the loss and move the product, freeing up space, than it is to wait for a higher dollar amount.

There are crazy deals on Amazon from time to time.

My wife's company does it from time to time on their warehoused goods. She took delivery today of a 9pc Wustoff Classic knife set for $73. :)

The weird part is right after I bought them the price jumped up to $200 and change. The box does look a little skanky like it's sat around a while
