This is beyond that i think. Good size split about 6" wide and several chips.

Stay away from Safelite and the big boys. They are way expensive. Look on the net and find a local guy. I did that and they were out here at my house the next day installing and it was half of what the big shops wanted.

There's so much info out there on this. Many opine that only OEM will fit properly. I just had mine replaced at a local family glass shop and it came out great. They didn't use OEM and it fit perfectly. No noises at all at -13 this morning.

I've see the most negative comments/feedback on Safelite.

yeah new windshield in that case,i would call around for quotes, sometimes the mom and pop places are cheaper and use the same glass as the high end corp. types. I got a Honda accord with a swelling crack in the windshield was quoted $108 to repair crack or $208 for a new windshield from Safellite glass, and they wont guarantee that the repair(resin/glue treatment) will hold up.

You need better insurance that covers windshield. Mine didn't specifically have windshield coverage but it just came out of the comprehensive deductible or one of those.

I had a guys number but I lost it. I'll see if I can get it again from my coworker

I had to have mine replaced a few years ago and from what I was told there all made by the same manufacturer just rebranded.

The guy that changed mine told me the same thing. They buy them from the same company that makes/provides the OEM.

I've had 3 different insurance policies and they've always said los angeles is never covered. Maybe they just don't like me lol.

Bad luck with safelite in the past. Price was fine imo (less than $300) buy two bad seals and one time it would never defrost. Over it

Just drove on the interstate for about 1/2 hour. New windshield is nice and quiet. No noises at all in these sub-zero and single digits temps.

May be better to post here, since you need a local contact: https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/southern-california.43/
X2. I had a cracked windshield on my Subaru. Local indie shop replaced it within an hour. They used aftermarket glass (LGW), but I can't tell a difference from OEM. No leaks, extra wind noise, or scratches to surrounding paint/trim. I called a couple of dealers first and they all outsource glass replacements to indies.
