Anyone ever pop your clutch accidently. Once a month when shifting to second Ill feel like the clutch is engaging and I'll let it out completely and it'll jerk the truck a bit. Any possible damage that can occur from this? Short term and/or long term.

If you have the gas to the floor... maybe. Otherwise, nope, just a little embarrassing if you have a passenger.

No flooring of pedal. Just relaxed driving and shifting to second from first when starting a from a complete stop.

Yup. I thought it was cool to have reverse there, but I forgot that I left in reverse a couple times at work. When leaving, I started going in the wrong direction. Moved only an inch or two.

I found the shifting and clutch pedal on the manual seem to get better after some miles (like 10K+).

Quick question about towing, i assume the same 6500 lbs towing capacity apply to the manual tranny right?

I remember something about it was only 3500lbs but dont remember if it was only for the 4cyl ones..

It’s the same but you don’t want to tow this much with the manual. The “take off” power is not there and would require serious slipping of the clutch to get going. Keep it around 4-5k.

I pull a 20' TT with a weight of around 4k. I'll post how it performs this summer.

5 speed 4 cylinder question here. Noticed very notchy shifting into second gear when the truck is cold. Gets better after a while but not great. 1-2 shift only. Bought the truck in October so it's been often cold here in ny since. Hope it just needs more breaking in? Used to Hondas super slick and quiet manuals. If I take it in I'm pretty sure I'll be hearing they all do that. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My 1st Gen Taco was terrible about going into 2nd gear in bitter cold, once I drove a few miles it was fine, I switched to synthetic Amsoil and that made it worse.

i think you could try slowing your shift down just a little bit. I notice on my 6MT that if If I move the shifter the moment I clutch, there will be slight resistance when pulling and I will feel and even hear the synchro working hard going into 2nd. If I slow down and allow the tranny to unload, everything goes smoother.

What if I said 8’ is the only true long bed?

Anyone else enjoying the cold weather leg press clutch? Tried getting into gear this morning at -15 after warming my truck up for 20 minutes. No go. Ended up starting in gear and rollin with it lol.
