    Hello fellow tacos,

I just purchased a 2013 2.7L Tacoma Base, for a steal. 50k miles on it and I got it for $17.5. (I used to work at that dealership)

Anywho, I basically pounced on that thing without even test driving it. What I've noticed is that it is gutless.

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally in love with this truck, but I'm used to V8's and this puppy is struggling to pass people going 70mph.

I've looked around this forum and while there have been questions asked around it, I thought my first post here could be specific to me and my needs.

So, I'm going to boost it. The question is:

    1) Has anyone here done it

    2) Turbo/Supercharger, which one and why

    3) In terms of structural and mechanical changes, what would I have to do

Thanks amigos! Looking forward to talking to you all.

Well most folks buy the 2.7 for longevity, reliability and fuel mileage

Man you guys are quick! Thanks for all the help so far I appreciate it.

I guess I'm just getting a case of the grass is greener. With such low miles on this thing, you guys think it'd be worth it to keep and supercharge, or sell and upgrade?

If you want fast, don’t buy a Tacoma.

The V6 is quicker, but a far cry from a V8, even from 20 years ago. For 5k+ you can supercharge the V6 and most folks only say “it feels like it should have come from the factory.”

To me “factory feeling” isn’t a definition of power. Blown V8s, sure. Blown V6? Faster than NA, but not worthwhile for me when the costs approach V8 prices (or exceed them, price a 2013 Toyota or domestic with a V8 for comparison).

Well I guess what I'm getting at, is I'm not looking for speed. I just want more power. I can't even pass people on the highway right now with the pedal to the floor. I wanted to see if anyone else had the same feelings or not and what they did about it. But I appreciate the help!
