How long does it take OV to activate your key. I sent him the info the day the tune arrived and OV Tune responded quickly. I got to the point where I sent him the answer.txt and dongle serial number but haven't heard back in two days.

Not sure as I am waiting on activation key myself, I sent the question file on Tuesday. He was trying to get stuff sent out tonight but just posted that his internet connection at his current location sucked.

Sorry if it's been discussed, had anybody passed CA emissions test with the tune?

I traded my taco (it was a lease) and have the OV kit available, just need to pay the license fee ($325 is what I saw on here). Message me if interested.

The tacos will not be required to smog test until 2021 starting with the 2016 models.

You could just attach the file and email it?

You'll have to wait like everyone else until OVT is back in the new year.

Yes I attached the file in the email I sent just wasn't sure if that would be a problem? But thanks anyway. BTW he did say he was going to try and get some stuff out today.

To circle back around on this.

The reason we have not considered releasing info about editing, or an editor is that there are still several parts of the ECU tables that we are still working on development for, which means figuring out how they work, how the affect secondary maps, etc.
Currently there is no reliable, standalone editing software. Everything we have done has been in our own editor, going through hex, disassembly, testing, and recording.
Releasing an editor, and or allowing people to start playing with the extremely complex internals of their trucks ECU without having accurate, tested and functional maps for editing could very quickly lead to disaster, which we do not want to be responsible for.
Everything we test we do so on a dyno, along with what we find in software and verify on a dyno.

So as far as us not giving out an editor and letting people have free range over their ECU is a choice made due to the complexity and on going development.

    As far as pricing,
the MT and AT ecu are inherently different. There are several things unique to each, and only limited things can be ported over (for example valve timing).
The MT ECU uses several different maps for controlling throttle and throttle response, torque control, etc.
the AT ECU uses a completely different strategy and the ECU and TCU are married, so many of the things that are related to the engine (like changing throttle) also modify settings of the TCU.
For example if the throttle and torque maps in the AT are changed to allow higher throttle limits, this changes how the transmission responds. This is not a specific tune to the TCU but rather a byproduct of changes to torque inside the ECU.

No need to justify your price, imho. No one made any of us purchase your product. We all acted of free will, and the huge majority are happy that we did so. Try to ignore the haters.

    Just my two cents............................ Frank
