air bags or new springs?

I did a lot of searching but never found my answer. My problem: rear suspension too soft. I bought the truck with deaver springs already installed. While the ride may be softer when I have 4 adults or two motos in it, she bottoms out too easily. I'm also thinking about putting a fiberglass topper on it which will add some weight. So what do i do here? My options: Airbags, springs, or timbrens. Airbags; seem like th ebest soultion here from an economical standpoint. My only concern is will I lose articulation? I'll be camping in this rig with the family all summer. Also planning on it being our support vehicle for the white rim trail come this fall so she's going to have to hold weight and flex. Springs; probably the most correct way to handle it but seems to be the priciest. Timbrens; cheap but not really a solution, more of a patch. Would love to hear your 2cents. Most seem to like the airbags...am I giving up suspension flex though??? thanks

 

OME Dakar springs are the way to go if you carry any weight out back. They even sell a extra leaf if you want to make it a extra heavy duty set. I purchased mine through Wheelers. You will find Wheelers in the vendors section at the bottom of the main page.

 

I have not ran air bags on the Tacoma, although ran full size firestone bags on my F-350 with great results. The springs only consisted of some massive over load leafs with a giant air bag on each end that was auto leveling. Hauled over 20k pounds with that truck and it rode like a dream.

 

If you like the ride and flex of your current springs go with the airbags IMO.
