Been in contact with a bunch of dealers in KY. Which should I go with?

2017 DCLB, OR, 4x4, prem pkg
    MSRP: 39,892
    Price: 35,779

    2018 DCLB, OR, 4x4
    MSRP: 39,496
    Price: 36,950

Is the '18 worth the extra 1,200? Or keep looking for a cheaper '17?

Unless you want/need Toyota SafetySense, 17 might be the smarter buy. For '18, you get some minor cosmetic changes in the grille & taillights, and the interior moves the Rear Window switch in lieu of the Auto Hi-Beam switch, but that's about it! Maybe you already know that. Plus, sounds like you're getting the Premium package with some extra goodies for cheaper. I had to go 18 for a rarer model, but if you can find a 17 for a good price, use the saved money and have some fun modding it! Good luck!

Do you think the current quote I got for the 17 is a good price? The 18 is cement color, which I keep trying to justify the extra cash for the color.

Have you looked at the AutoTrader or NADA guides to Invoice pricing? That's the best resource you have for pricing. It seems like some of these guys are getting close to Invoice for 18's even. For a 17, you should be getting the Invoice YOU can find on the Internet or LESS! Cuz face it, 18's are already popping up on lots. They just need space!

Ahhhh! I forgot about Cement! The only other big change for 2018!

OTD? Yes all day. Otherwise, I'd say that's close to fair. or "not bad". Whichever you prefer.

I saw a 2018 TRD Pro Manual Transmisson at my dealer today. I believe they wanted around 42,000 for it. Super white though. Let me know if you're interested I'll send you a link.

Personally know the manager there as well so may be able to hook you up.

I appreciate that, and it would be perfect as I'd be happy with white or blue, but besides color, the only other option I care about is having an auto.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
People, People -- please remember OTD does not mean the same thing in different states or even different cities!
We should "invent a new "term" I give it a go -- drum roll please ---"TTC" --- True Truck Cost or TCC for cars. What the buyer paid for his/her truck . NO dealer paperwork FEES ( these are dumb , pure dealer profit anyway -- I paid my first $75.00 on my Taco) -- NO Taxes -- no dealer add-ons. Feel free to give the Toyota (not dealer) sticker as a starting reference. Then give what you paid for the truck -- not your payment -- bottom line. This is a good thing,- that way you know What YOU paid or will pay.
Who cares what your payment is -- the extra is bank/credit union/finance co. profit. Look at the cost of the vehicle versus your payment -- in some it may scare you to see how RICH you are making the lending agency, and then again some may say that's OK?
Taxes in some states are paid to the dealer --some others not (Mo. has no mandated state fees to the dealers --some do it as a convenience to the buyer) -- some states (I understand) have mandated fees the dealers must/can charge. If you don't know what/if you are being charged -- my friend --you are a uneducated buyer on the 2nd most expensive object you are likely to be buying.
Now I am beginning to understand there are parts of the country where there are middlemen wholesalers add all sorts of "stuff' to the truck after they get hold of it and send it off to the dealer. THAT Sucks. Subaru does this same thing on the east coast and that's why those Subies cost more than anywhere else in the US. If you do some research you will find this has made multi-millionaires out of the owners of these middlemen companies. This is a fact for the Subaru guy, 60Minutes even did a story on his wealth.
The impt. thing here is know what EVERYTHING is/means on that sales ticket is and question it. About the only thing around here (Mo.) that the dealers won't back off on is the Manufacturers delivery fee.
Be an informed and educated buyer and you will find you get more respect from the dealer and usually walk away with a better deal, instead of a piece of "livestock" headed for "financial-slaughter".
One more thing to leave out of your numbers for cost-- leave out your trade in -- if you do that "nonsense". New car dealers make a average $2500-3500 pure profit on every trade-in. I am 70 and have never-ever traded in a vehicle.

So I won’t post the OTD price since it’s different for everyone.

    2018
    TRD OR 4x4
    Short bed
    Tow package
    Double cab

And I got some sort of tech package without the sun roof, not sure if that’s just a 2018 thing now.

Paid $34,620 before TTL in Cali

Pull the trigger this weekend. Flew to Ky and drove it back to South Florida:
2018 7544 in Cement with Prem and Tech w/predator steps, door guards, bed mat, wheel locks, all weather floor mats for $37k.
If interested, they have another truck with the exact same build. Dealer is Toyota on Nicholasville. Speak with Ian.
