That pic makes remember what it was like working at a ski resort. I use to make snow and run lifts, miserable job. I could never get warm. I would start work at 11:00pm, wet my Carharts down so they would freeze, makes them windproof, jump on a snow machine ,up to the top, and adjust the guns. Nothing better than water and freezing temps. We would have to climb the lift towers to remove ice build up on the wheels and guides, fun stuff.

Well the real feel is -35 there right now.

It’s 0 in the sun here.
But after 10 below I don’t know if you can tell the difference.

This last spring was like that but opposite. It got hot faster and it was hotter, but it ended right on time. We still haven't got our deepest cold yet (I don't think). We'll usually dip into the 30's in the mornings for a week or two. We didn't get any December rains either.

Yeah just spent 15 minutes outside with the dog and the phone went off with a windchill alert. -30 and warning that exposed skin will freeze in 10 minutes. Had a hat on guess should be wearing gloves too. Darn dog seems to thrive in this crap. Guess they screwed up the forcast again low of -12 and it is -13 at 9 AM LOL.

    dec31.jpg

And warning that tonight -40 to -50 windchills. Oh joy the dog is not getting as much play time as normal gloves or not.

Yes you do feel the difference below -10 but it takes larger increments. The picture I posted earlier of Lake Superior still open it was -30. When I came back through a week later with windchill it was -60. I got out of the truck to walk to the shore to take a comparison picture of the Lake frozen solid, it was one of those once in a lifetime shots. Got out of the truck and felt like someone sucker punched me then bitch slapped me. I said screw that and got back in the truck and drove off.

I know this may sound mean but.... LOL My dad thinks it is great fun to watch the sleds go flying up the Pennamaquan River and go through the ice ... He gets pissed as some are running damn near drag pipes on them yes I have been there and heard them too from more then a 1/4 mile away . Most are out of state folks who do not realize that river is brackish toward one end and is spring fed in a lot of areas. So the ice is thin in spots well .. they usually find them and end up destroying their machine . No one has died or been seriously injured that we know of so yeah he giggles about it . They do hate the fines for dumping their machine in the river though lol.

We're putting manifolds in all our buildings at work to be able to shut down individual stools, urinals, sinks, showers, etc. It really is nice to just turn the handle on a valve 1/4 turn for one item and not shut the entire building down.

I wish they did that at the shop for air/oil lines.
We blow an air hose we have to shut the compressors off because the shut off is next to the winders
    On the ceilings.
Shop is a common sense nightmare built by engineers and architects with no real world experience.
We were asked our opinion now while it was being built.
About 50 suggestions in writing was handed to them.
    Not one was implemented.
And we have what we have.
One 2 receptacle outlet for each tech. Which is actually one because the house computers take one.
So we need 2 elect strips each to charge out own stuff, our own computers, batteries, etc cords.
We suggested 2 four gange receptacle 4 feet apart per bay..
    Naaaaaa we don’t know anything..

Well, good morning folks. It's 47 deg and partly cloudy. Not much planned today so I may start on a delayed project. I have a couple cable spools in the garage I was going to convert to cat climbs for my son's cats. I have a couple pieces of carpet to wrap them with. This will get them out of the garage and get more room back. Now that all the truck parts are out, I'm kinda on a roll to get it cleaned up.
