I'm actually with a credit union now at 6percent LOL.

But after a year or so I'm hoping my credit Will be a little better and then i plan to refinance. I'll talk with different credit unions and see what the best deal i can get is.

I have no unpaid bills, nothing even 1 day late. No repos, no bankruptcy... But i have a handful of credit cards that are maxed out and i can only afford to pay the minimum on them. Plus lots of hard inquiries from shopping around at car lots.

Hey I'm not placing blame... Irresponsible shopping on my end... It catches up to ya LOL

Ah I see, that sucks but yeah work on your credit and in a year you should be much better off.

Wouldn't hurt to try asking around right now, maybe some other financial institution like state farm or usaa..

You can actually dispute those hard checks on your credit. .

How? I got like 20. I bought a 2016 tacoma. It got totalled, i wasn't at fault, bought another 2016 tacoma 2wd, then a year later traded it for a 2017 4x4 tacoma...equaled LOTS of hard checks!

Well, you have three different places your credit is/could be reported to when they run those credit checks. Just determine which one of the three it went through, call them and let them know you had some hard credit checks on your score and you'd like to dispute them. I've heard hard checks dock 1-3 points depending (of course this is all hearsay I could be incorrect). Also, with your other cards I wouldn't suggest closing them when you pay them off. Get rid of the cards for sure, but closing credit accounts can actually negatively affect your score.

Glad I found this thread. So I'm looking at a 2017 TRD Sport 4Door Long Bed, with the Premium/Tech package without JBL, Tow package and a few accessory options like the Tonneau, bed mat, 3" chrome side step, and all-weather liners/sill protectors. Priced out the MSRP would be $40,943 including the $995 Destination fee, no Taxes or doc fee. The invoice works out to $37,640, same parameters. Oh yeah, I'm located in Va.

So, what should I offer? End of the year, dealership seems hungry to get a sale. I see some of you guys are getting 10-12% off MSRP, or better. Just trying to determine a reasonable target price.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks joeslide and LT4247 that give me a reference. Joeslide - I haven't seen any financing deals advertised in my area (on Tacomas), what part of the country are you in? If I could get the deal you got I'd be done.

Found the exact truck i wanted on autotrader. Then emailed them and the “net salesman” answered all my questions and sent a detailed quote. Never spoke with anyone. I then drove (3 hrs) to dealer to test drive truck and finalize the deal. Paid $10k down and took advantage of their free money for 48 mos.

On 2017 model clearance you can get 0% for 48 months or .9% for 60.
I dont know how long that last. I am happy with my deal and truck.

    That help answer your questions?

Yeah I just ask because southern California can be a pain when it comes to Tacomas

I had a wreck on Monday that totaled my Prius. I walked in, met a really nice salesman. I found out that he (the salesman) had the only DCLB Off Road in the area. My wife's cousin worked at another dealership and I kinda played between the two until it was apparent who was offering the better deal.

    BTW, I'm in North Alabama...

    Edit: Answered question

Back on 11 Nov I purchased my SW '17 TRD OR 4x4 DCSB with Premium and Technology packages, along with moonroof for $36,999, no haggling. Most San Diego dealers (who didn't have exactly what I wanted) wanted to sell me this truck for more, but got it at the dealer (Toyota of El Cajon, CA). MSRP of $40,048 so I only got 8% off MSRP, but San Diego is tough on Tacoma deals and I didn't really care to haggle a lot.
