Thanks tcBob, I’m new at this forum stuff, was looking for Tonneau cover advice, so many options and price points out there.

Welcome to TacomaWorld, the site that will entice you to keep your wallet empty.
Seven plus years with BAKFlip F1. Recommended and would probably buy again - lots of pro's and a few con's. After seven years the paint on the top fiberglass panels suffered from exposure to UV, currently it's off the Taco and at a local shop to be painted. Another downside is the F1 does allow some moisture to get into the bed, not much, just enough to be careful for things you don't want to get wet. As an alternative, the new OEM tonneau looks nice and appears to be not as costly as the BAKflip - but I have no experience with it. As you can see, lots of options and how much you care to spend - everyone just about will have a different opinion.

Anyway, Welcome to TacomaWorld and safe travels with that new Taco!

    welcome.
went for the Extang Encore because:
    - folds open & flat at both front or back panel and you can drive without it blocking rear glass.
    - removes or reinstalls in about a minute.
    - locks with your ignition key
    - looks great, solid build, 300lb capacity on top (got kids so that's important here)

would buy again. good luck and happy New year

Hey, welcome. Show us some pics of your new baby.

I Have the oem tonneau. Apparently it's only a factory option.

My experience is that the backflip is better because it can flip an extra 90 degrees at the cab, exposing the entire bed (also blocking your rear view). But the oem only folds twice, leaving the forward third of your bed covered and inaccessible. I still like the oem and it's durable and 99% water tight.
