Lol! Honestly I’m my 2nd gen I regretted the hood!!! Every time the sun was out in the afternoon especially, it would blind the hell out of me. Maybe it was because of the color, or that I’m 5’8”, but either way it was a pain. Looked so badass though. Tough choice. The 3rd gens may not have that issue. Not sure.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Please understand -- STATISTICS DON''t mean anything except to the vehicle manufacturers as to what is selling.
It is your money you are spending (I think) -- GET what makes you walk out in the morning sun and say "dam-- I like that color!" Me-- I think the "Taliban-Tan is a good color -- but I knew I would get tired of it . IF Toyota put that new red they have for the Camrys and Rav-4s on the Tacomas -- I would have had a harder choice between the blue and red
Also BTW -- you can have them get any color and trim combo you want by ordering with a wait time (if they (Toyota) build it). If you are keeping it that long -- then a little patience now will pay off over 20 years.-- Advice from an old-fart!

I had the same choice to make exactly one year ago. I went with the Silver Sport.
My reasoning (for me, of coarse):
Silver-looks great clean, dirty, new, old, etc...
Sport- Though I plan to try some off-roading this year to bring my trail bike to new places, I'll never need the advanced off-road features of the OR. If I ever get into off-roading that much I can upgrade accordingly. The better street handling and mileage of the sport make more sense for my everyday use of the truck right now. Plus it looks awesome!

One year later and I still love it! I made the right choice. I'm heading out now to give her a wash, clay bar and a fresh coat of sealant to ward off this new england winter! Starting the new year with a shiny silver TRD Sport in the driveway is a great start!

Quicksand is nice. One of my mountain biking buddies has a Quicksand TRD Sport and it really looks good out in the wild.

Yes, even with the metallic paint. Needs to be a labor of love. But sure looks nice when it’s clean.

Very similar to my situation. I basically went with the Sport based on looks, and the fact that I don’t anticipate needing crawl control anytime soon. I also chose blue, primarily because I’ve been driving gray cars for the past 20 years and needed a little color in my life!

By the way, given the Greensburg Toyota pics, are you from SW PA? I grew up near Mt Pleasant....

Good choice! The Blue is real slick with the scoop. I’m actually from NE Ohio, but frequently travel to Beaver Falls, Pittsburgh.

Still a black and gold fan?

Definitely. Been in Cincinnati for the past 25 years, but still a die-hard Steelers fan. Kinda sad to see what the Browns rivalry has become.

Get an SR or an SR5 model. Dont have all that frilly crap that you will never use, and it dont have fender flares to catch mud and road salt behind and just rust out your truck. Its agood base to build atruck to suit what you need it for, without overpriced crap that you dont.

If you know you'll never use the crawl control or the locker get the sport for the hood and if you decide you want black flares you can plasti dip them or buy them. Flares are alot cheaper than a hood. Personally I think Quicksand with black flares is the best looking.

See I thought about just getting an sr5 and using the money left over to lift, add wheels and a pro grill.

There’s a basically brand new sr5 double cab with 2500 miles for sale for about $30k at a dealer near me.

I need to figure out all the differences between the sr5 and sport before I make a decision

You aren’t kidding, still watch the stillers but became a pats fan when I was about 14 for no real reason other than Brady.

Hoping the Pats and Steelers get a rematch in the AFC championship though, that will be quite the game
