Reason asking is: my front tires look low.. I like to run my tires a little tight, maybe it’s just me but no tire pressure warning has came on in the dash.. jw

    Thanks

US Federal Law requires TPMS on all new vehicles.

I remembered seeing this thread this morning as I changed a flat. Put a spare on with no tpms. I drove 15 miles to work before the low tire warning light came on with my no tpms spare. If it had waited 100 more yards I wouldve been parked without it coming on and thought it didnt have it or it wasn't working.

And if you had stopped short, after your first 100 yards when you came back out, it would have come on.

It's not 'instant on', just like most CELs, to allow for oddities that self correct.

    Yep.

Check them. Good for you for even looking.

Remember you'll lose 1# pressure for every 10* of temp drop. So they may well be a little low.

Kind of odd for it to go that far--25minutes of driving. Had I been on the highway in summer heat it wouldve blown off the wheel. The very thing this is supposed to prevent.

TPMS has been required since 2008 on all vehicles under 10,000 lbs GVW sold in the US...

Then I'm confused on what you describe.

I read it as it took that long to notice that there was no signal from a spare.

Was the flat in the bed of the truck? And you're saying it should have noted that sooner?

I hoped/expected it to read low on engine startup. The flat was right with the truck after I mounted the spare. Light never came on until 15 miles away. If the flat had been driven on it would have assploded.

None in the spare, my old 2008 had it in the spare though.

Is there a menu on the steering controls to verify if you have the TPMS installed?

So I just bought a 2020 SR trim with SX package. I too notice there is no TMPS on the dash that shows each individual wheel their reading. Is this a feature you need to enabled? If its mandated by law in the US to have them why hide that feature?

I am guessing the SR only has a light that will come on if a tire is low but not the advanced feature of showing individual tire pressures.
