Damn my garage floor looks dirty in pictures!

But they went in just fine....other than the parking brake not being able to be attached to the pack due to them not giving the right bolt. Or least the stock one wouldnt fit and i dont have any M8x1.5 on hand to have tested. . But zip ties work just fine!

Trying to get a feel for what coilovers I should buy for my truck. Currently, for about 2 years now I’ve had 5100’s with ome 887’s and Dakars in the back and they’ve worked perfectly fine. When I moved here in April we got a rtt and started camping and going into the mountains to run and hike a lot. Now since then I’ve added a steel plate bumper and winch. Combined with the steel ifs, mid, and t-case skids I have a decent amount of weight up front. I’ll eventually add a rear bumper with swing out to add even more weight in the back.

Most of what I drive (besides pavement) is forestry roads not really ever rock crawling. My wife and I both bike to and from work and the truck sits in the garage mon-fri, so it’s not a commuter.

I’ve got my eyes on king 2.5 with remote resis for front and back and 700lb coils, just debating whether that’ll be overkill?
Remote resis, necessary? Also are compression adjusters necessary ($600 difference between getting them on all four corners or not, think I’d rather buy a snorkel)? Or are they just cool to have, being able to dial in a stiffer or softer ride? Most of what I’ve read it seems like people buy coilovers with them because they say they have to have them, then set them somewhere in the middle and never touch them again (I’d be one of those people). Lastly where should I buy these? I’ve shopped around online and the prices are pretty similar. Are there any local places that might give me a better deal and save on shipping?

Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Either OME BP51's or Kings with 650lb coils. I hated my 700lb coils on my last tacoma (had full steel armor), just too stiff in my opinion.
As for adjusters they make a big difference on my current coil overs, i'd get them again. You can fine tune your ride to how you like it. 24 clicks of adjustment, I keep mine on the softest for offroad and about 12 or 13 for on road.
Message Downsouth motorsports on here if you decide to go King and you can get a discount

The kings and remote resis are absolutely definitly not overkill for FS roads. And those clickers, if you use them, make the difference between being able to do 10mph on pit run vs 35mph.

FS roads are fucking hard on suspension. The little tiny bumps and especially washboards do the same short fast cycling that you would get in the desert. I have gotten my stock shocks to fade in freezing weather before.

Yup. With my kings on the softest setting and my tires aired down I literally don't feel washboard unless its severe, even then i barely feel it.

Do kings usually come with 600lb springs on them or 650lb?

You specify. I believe your choices for the bolt in tacoma stuff is 600, 650, 700.

I believe 600. In the message include that you want 650lb springs, shouldn't be an extra cost. At least it wasn't before.

They may be super bro but after yesterday I can say I am very impressed with the BFG KO2's in 295/75R16, I didn't have any issues slipping in the snow and didn't get stuck once. Granted I had @NorthwestCruiser and Andrew breaking trail but I was plowing pretty good with my skid plate and LCAs and there were a few places I got well out of their tracks and didn't have any issues plowing through.

I am running Icons (no resis) with 700# springs up front and the Dakar EL096R leafs and Icon non-resi shocks (just swapped these in and removed the resi shocks) in the back with full plate bumpers, winch and heavy 1/4" IFS skid plate up front and I would say that the suspension is noticeably stiff all around but not unbearable by any means. I'm sure once I add 2 more skids plates and a heavier battery up front it will be almost smooth. The Icons originally came with 650# springs that I ran until I installed the bumper and I think with all the extra weight I would've been diving into turns with those springs. Since I haven't ever tried the clickers I can't say whether they would be worth it or not but if you don't see yourself using them that is a lot of extra money for really nothing. I do just fine with the non-resi up front, I think unless you are really planning to run hard there is enough oil in the 2.5" that they don't heat up enough to be necessary. In the rear I plan to go back to either a 2.0" or 2.5" resi at some point when I do a shock relocate, these are just temporary to get me by after needing a longer length with the Dakars.

If the BP51s were available when I bought my setup there is a good chance I would have gone that direction though.

I can't think about Bellingham without thinking of hippy dreads just dripping in flees and hippy chicks standing around digging their fingers into their itchy buttholes through their hippy rag dresses(true story at Wins in Fairhaven).
