I just got new LED bulbs for my headlights on my 2011 Tacoma, and I keep getting people flashing me and getting mad on the road. I am assuming this is because I did not angle my headlights down when I lifted my truck. I found the bolt on the back of the headlight that is supposed to angle the headlights up and down, but nothing happens when I turn it either way, any ideas?

Nope it is because LED's do not belong in a Halogen Headlamp. You can lower them to where they belong but you will pretty much be blinding people as LED's in Halogen Headlamps are scattered. There are 2 screws to turn, 1 at the top of the Headlight, and 1 on the lower part of the Headlight. This is why a lot of us with Halogens do this mod instead. But here is a Youtube Video for adjusting the Headlamp.

Like unchained said, the LED bulbs simply won’t work with the housing design. To much light spread.

You can adjust those headlights with LED bulbs all you want and all you're going to end up with is crap output / usable light on the ground and pissed off on-coming drivers. Listen to crashnburn80. He knows what he's talking about.

Yeah but then I would at least have the option of turning them off without having to go with no light at all.

I didn't want to change the DOT certified correctly engineered OEM headlight assembly, or any wiring. I replaced both lamps with Volsa H4 + 100's http://store.candlepower.com/64205.html. halogen, big increase in light output, correct cutoff, correct color, not melting anything, not blinding oncoming traffic, road legal (it's possible to get a ticket for improper illumination).
Exact replacement for the Osram 70/65w Hyper H4 bulb, which is no longer available.

On my 06, I had to remove the top washer bottle 10mm bolt to get my hand in far enough. Still only took about 10 min.

I'm stopping at Auto Zone in 2 days to pick-up headlamp for my '06. When I get back to the garage, as a novice am I going to have any problems replacing? Owners manual looks straight forward but sometimes I break stuff instead of fixing. Also, should I replace both sides at same time? Can I put that in my Bio as a Mod (now you're just being a smart-ars)

Yup, pretty straight forward. The biggest pain is usually getting the rubber seal off after you pull the electrical connector / plug. Just take your time and everything will come apart. The spring clip that holds the bulb in each housing releases pretty easily and then the bulb comes out. Just make sure that you never touch the glass portion of the bulb with your hands. The oils from your hands can cause early bulb failure. Oh, and the bulb will only fit in the housing one way due to the location of the three tabs. Make sure it's settled in all the way before trying to put the spring clip back on. And yes, I would replace both bulbs at at the same time.

And whatever you do, do not knock off the passenger side spring clip.
