    So I fucked up with a trailer and wrecked my tailgate. Is this remotely fixable.

    Or does anyone in the southeast have a tailgate for sale?

    Start hitting craigslist and your local salvage yards. For the life of you do not go through Toyota dealership they will ask a ridiculous amount of money.

    Collecting Christmas trees and had the tailgate down for trees. Hit a speed bump, and when the trailer went up, the jack went right into the tailgate.

    Aw man that is just bad luck. I searched my local CL and found a tailgate for $200. That will probably be your best bet

    Doh! Yeah that's not fixable. Tacoma tailgates are made from recycled animal cracker tins. No way you can rework it.

    Haunt Craigslist for a bit rather than paying for new from the dealer.

    I googled your location and you have an LKQ Auto Parts in your backyard. Give them a call and see if they can give you a price for a tailgate. They have a huge nationwide salvage yard operation and should have the tailgate. Hope it helps buddy

    You totally need a new tailgate. For the amount of labor required to fix that one (if it's even fixable to) would be more than even getting a new tailgate from Toyota and having it painted.

    I'm even more happy now that I opted to mount my aftermarket backup camera above my license plate.
