Don't give up. You'll regret it later on. Have them throw in a tonneau cover or something to make it worth your wait if they messed up your order.

How did they mess up your order? I don’t get how orders get messed up. You pick what you want and they order it. Wouldn’t someone have to delete stuff off your order for it to get messed up?

Where’s the chrome? The minescule band of chrome around the grille?

Chrome Tacoma Badges, Chrome around the Grille, chrome on the mirrors, emblems, Wheels have polished finished.........all with no black to contrast it. It just looks better with more black. Again, just my opinion.

I have to agree with @Stefan_Ray on this issue. If it was on my truck I’d probably be plasti-dipping the ring. It’s like the princess and the pea for me. My eye would go to that minuscule band of chrome, and I’d be bugged by it, lol.

Loving the cement color... I have been on a hunt myself...
I currently reserved a 18 TRD SPORT DCSB 4X4 AT at Denver, CO. They gave it to me at invoice, but they have a 599 dealer fee and a few accessories I don't like.
I am still looking around nearby states, can't wait to get my hands on one.

I live in Los Angeles right now and will be moving to Colorado around January. I can't seem to find a deal around here... I wanted to get the truck here and drive to Colorado with my stuff.

The trip in a new Taco sounds FUN!!! Roll in to CO in style. Just please get the OR version instead of the Sport. You’ll thank me later. It will come in more handy in CO than the Sport will.

Debadging easily solves issue 1, (would do the same with black badges and decals),
The question was where is all the offensive chrome. The Wheels aren’t chrome and they’re milled. Most black wheels also have a “polished look” unless they’re matte. But agreed black wheels look better and I’ll be swapping them out.
My Mirrors are painted. And I feel black tint offers plenty of contrast, especially with black wheels.

What is the difference performance wise? I like how the Sport looks, the hood scoop and the painted sides, but I plan on changing the grill and tires to get rid of any chrome.

You’ll get fender flares to help protect the paint from all the salt. Rear Diff lock and Crawl feature which will help in the new climate you’re about to be in. It’s isnt 80 degrees and sunny year round in CO. Snow about 4-5 months out of the year. And just so you know, the TRD Sport doesn’t come with chrome tires. lol

I clearly didn't do my homework, I thought rear diff lock and crawl feature was also in the Sport. I thought the only difference was the Tires and the shocks. Which in my case when my wife gives me the green light to take this off-roading, I only needed to replace both, but for now it will be my daily driver.

    gotta re-think things

Yeah, Crawl and rear diff lock is on the TRD OR only. You get a sunglass holder in the Sport where the crawl control is. Wheels and tires are also different. Sport comes with 17” wheels and the OR comes with 16” wheels.

Hmm, I’ll have to investigate. Gangbangers, Best waves in California, two navy bases, strawberry fields and DW Drums HQ? Doesn’t surprise me. But I’ll have to counter your earlier reply to another member. Can guarantee you one of the hombres in colonia is rolling around with a set of chrome tires, somehow..

You’re probably right. I can go on the west side of town here in Charlotte and see Chrome things on vehicles I didn’t even know existed. I had a 3rd Gen pass me down by Panther football stadium with wide white walls.

i know a lot of people trade hoods to get the scoop. i'd bet you can find someone near by who doesn't want theirs.
