My Speedo is over 10mph too so I was actually doing 90

That stock exhaust is so quiet! Outside of a slight shifting feeling you can’t even tell it’s shifting all over the place.

I was cruising for hours at 3500-4000 rpm and all I could hear was a little wind noise from the light bar.

Sounds really wimpy though. So that’s a downside I guess.

 

Where are you headed to anyway?

 

I'm In Truckee till tomorrow, then headed to Oregon for a few days to see my parents. Then coming back this weekend. And I'll be back in Truckee till the 12.

I was in winnemucca (half way between SLC and San Jose) when I sent that. So I had a few hours until Reno.

I’m jealous of truckee. I’d love to live there. I think the closest I’ll ever get might be Sacramento. Or maybe placerville somewhere.

After visiting SLC for a week I have no desire to live there any time soon. Some forest place like truckee would be nice. Or up north in Oregon maybe.

Gotcha, I'd love to buy a house out here and retire. But these taxes out here suck. I'd probably end up buying on the state line by Verdi so technically I'd be living in Nevada

 

Way suck. We were looking at the property taxes on the house we are renting.

That’s a good point. Maybe I need to check that out too. I think jberry (the mod here) lives across the state line near truckee. I guess if I’m not here for the weather no point to stay.

 

I bought a place out in south Reno last year for the same reasons. A little further from truckee but still close to the mountains. Cool thing about where my place is are all the wild mustangs running around.

 

On a side note, isn’t there supposed to be more snow in that area around this time?

I know last year there was more than usual, but when I drove from SLC in April that rest area at donner pass had like ten feet of snow. Yesterday there was basically zero.

 

Yeah no snow foreasted. So doing the Rubicon this weekend with a few buddies from high school

 

In your Tacoma?

 

Haha. Let me know if you do. I’m curious how it does. My dad really wants to do it this summer. My Tacoma and his Range Rover.

I did it years ago. We went a few weeks after the Jeep jamboree. So it was fairly smoothed out. We also skipped the main obstacles which made it a lot easier.

That was in an 83 cj-7 with a 4” lift, 35’s, and a rear locker along with a defender 90 that had 33’s and maybe a rear locker. I can’t remember exactly what his was.

We did it all in one day. Only breakage was at the very end where my rear u bolts came loose and my axle came off the perches. Oh and I ran out of gas near the end and had to get towed all the way back to town.

I’ll have to swap back to 35’s before then.
