Cook's Essentials Pressure Cooker problem?

Wondering if anyone here is familiar with Cook's Essentials pressure cookers. Got one for Xmas and was trying a pot roast tonight. Read through the manual and googled my problem (not even sure its a problem as it may be normal operation) but no answer.
So i set it to timed cook and put in my time. It preheats, beeps and displays my cook time, then beeps again and flashes 0000. Throughout the cooking process, it continues to beep randomly (one beep approx every 5-10 min) and display 0000.
Anyone know anything?

 

I dont but have you read the instructions all the way through?

 

Browsed though all the directions, but no, did not thoroughly read every page. Definitely read through all the steps for timed pressure cooking and troubleshooting. And googled what's going on. Nothing obvious....

 

maybe its not sealing? what model is it

And the not sealing was a concern as you can hear air hissing (very lightly)

 

1) Prepare desired food and place into cooking pot (6). 2) Secure the lid (1) onto the unit, turn it Counter-clockwise to lock it properly in place. 3) Make sure the Pressure Limiting Valve(3) is set to the “Airtight” position. 4) Plug the power cord into a 120V power outlet. 5) The LED screen will display 0.0 00. 6) Choose the desired menu button. When pushed, the Cook Time will display for the selected setting. For example, if VEGETABLES/FISH is selected, the display will show 0.0 05 and the indicator light for VEGETABLES/FISH will begin blinking. Press START to begin the cooking process and the indicator light for VEGETABLES/FISH will turn solid. 7) Once you press START, the LED screen will display T TP. You may press CANCEL to stop the current cooking function. 8) The pressure cooker will begin building pressure at this time. Using the VEGETABLES/FISH function as an example, the LED screen will display P0 05 when proper pressure is achieved and the 5 minute cook-time will begin to count down. (Depending on the menu button selected, the display will be different for each button and show P0__ correspondingly based on the MENU BUTTON SELECTIONS& COOK TIMES CHART

 

Right. Funny thing is that you're the second person to point this out. Only problem is that my issue is that it flashes 0000 after i start the timed pressure cook process. So i plug it in. I press the "pressure cook time" button. Set the time for my pot roast (50 min). It goes through its warm up/pressure buildup process (the led circles the display if that makes sense). Then it beeps once and displays 50.00 (as if it's going to start counting down) shortly after (within the minute) it beeps again and flashes 0000 on the LED. After about 40 min, it displayed P035, then P034, then beeped again and flashed 0000 until i decided the pot roast was done (which did turn out delicious and tender despite my malfunctions). At that point, i cancelled the process and released the pressure manually. I believe at this point that my unit is defective and i will be contacting the manufacturer on Tuesday

 

Id be careful if its not working as should be.

 

Yup, not going to use it anymore. At least until I talk to the company about what I'm experiencing. I'm just happy my pot roast wasn't ruined.
