Nope. Just make sure you get the ballast. I love these. First thing I switched out on my truck and it lights up the world. I went with 6K and absolutely love them. People in front of me don’t but I tell you, you can see everything.

Just added the roof racks Friday. Pedro is almost finished. It’s came a long ways in just over a year. Love it more every day.

What's up. I'm usually on the 1st Gen thread since I have a 1998. I'm just finishing up my 2WD PreRunner to 4x4 conversion with Manual Hubs and I thought y'all might like to see what 2017 wheels look like with Manual Hubs on a 1998.

I did take some photos on my street tonight. Light throw is a lot better than stock and has great cut off, too. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo before I installed the HIDs so no comparison between them at night. Hope the photos below help!fullsizeoutput_f5c.jpgStock on passenger, HID on driver. *Note that I didn't let the bulb warm up all the way. When they are fully warm about 20sec they area pure white that matches the LEDs perfectly.*

Throw down my street while sitting in front of my house. I know it has no reference to anything, but it is a huge improvement over stock. The orange sign on the right hand side is on the next block, I've never noticed it before I installed these as I couldn't see it with my stock lights.
IMG_3145.jpg Last but not least, HID cut off. Straight as an arrow.

Got a Snugtop canopy a while back and thanks to some recommendations on this forum, I ordered bed stiffeners. They came in but sat in the garage for a little over a month (hesitation on drilling into the truck). Well, the VLED lights I ordered to replace my rear turn signal bulbs came in last week and today I got off my tail and installed both. Got rid of the bulky front license plate holder as well. Nothing as fancy as some of you. I am now eyeballing a slim roof basket for both the cab and the canopy.
*EDIT* Forgot to add the bed cubby covers I got from micwillia (no pics though, you can see enough of those in his post https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bed-cubby-covers-for-sale.491909/)

I have not done this to my truck. I have tested one out in a previous vehicle. That one didn't have voice, but it did have navigation w/audio prompting. I liked the ability to voice que by artist and ask questions about something I drove past. Sometimes even conversion between Kilometer and Mile. I didn't like how much of my data plan it ate up.
    A couple of questions...
Would you be tethering it to a mobile for internet and then bluetooth to your entertainment unit? It would be limited to your mobiles internet coverage and use your data plan.
I find the information displayed in the entertainment unit for radio and bluetooth via my phone to show the song title/author. Echo wouldn't have this feature. Also Echo's navigation wouldn't be as prompt as the one in your entertainment unit. It appears you have a 2017 so it already has voice control (primitive, but functional). So what would be your main focus for doing so?

This also makes me ask, as I also haven't tried connecting two bluetooth devices to our entertainment system. If it can only talk to one at a time... then incoming calls wouldn't go to the head unit. Can you connect two bluetooth devices to the entertainment unit at the same time?

*EDIT* Found this little device, and it looks like it might be right up your ally!
