ok, I'm back home. left Santa Cruz on the 23rd for Reno, then Wednesday morning, we somehow managed to drive to Dallas in 26 hours, and dragged a camp trailer back to Reno, and home. :turtleride:

which is to say, we should start a series of TW SCruz beer meet-n-greets. BeerThirty on a saturday afternoon? ideally closer to the 1st quarter or full moon because I like to do amateur astronomy on the nights of the new or last quarter

Should’ve called out sick, then you don’t have to care!

I have a Viair 400. I considered a permanent mounted unit in the engine bay but like the portability of the Viair so that I can transfer to my other vehicles. I don't like having to pop the hood every time I use it, however. What I would like to do is to mount a remote battery access point.

Something like this, perhaps. Mounted somewhere inside the front bumper, but still easily accessible, to attach the alligator clips.

Anyone done something similar with suggested ideas. Pros/cons.

I had a similar idea, except I wanted to do away with the clips altogether. Could keep them and make an adapter of some sort.

Thought this setup would work: 2-Wire 8 Gauge Male Trolling Motor Connector

Thought about something like that, as well. But then the compressor is again relegated only to the truck, and becomes less versatile.

Just make an adapter and keep it with the compressor.

That's why I was thinking I would keep the clips and make an adapter. The trolling motor plug would be purely for my convenience. You know, because opening the hood and connecting the clips is such a nuisance.

Its easy enough to make an alligator clip dongle out of the female side of that connector. That way, you can use the dongle for other situations and have the male/female connection for your own truck... ?
