Nah... plenty of other places to do the same without going back to that shithole. Only place worth visiting are the Keys IMO.

So, I'm fairly certain this topo map I had was on my tablet.. which perished.

I can't find it anymore, tried on my phone. I'm trying to find the name of it, maybe someone uses the same. I thought it was a layer in the MyTrails app but i looked through and cannot find it.

It was like a hybrid topo map but it had a ton of hiking and wheeling trails as well as old names of places and a lot of mine sites were labeled and other historic stuff that you'd never know was there. It also had most decent sized mountains labeled. Shot in the dark since there are a bunch out there. Only other thing it might've been on was Gaia. But i don't have that on my phone to check.

A small handful of select mods.
GAIA allows for up to 3 layers to show at once. That could be the hybrid you are referring to. Sounds like maybe you had the Nat Geo layer with the hiker layer and the USGS layer together.

True, but it was a single topo layer.

Nope, worst investment ever. You think Tacoma/ offroad hobby is expensive, just see what fuel and rent will cost you on a single engine plane. You would be better off just making camp fires with cash over going that route.

It's a young single man or woman's grind (gone 28 out of 30 days a month) to get there but could be worth the reward once you have the multi engine hours to even apply for a big time commercial job.

Well if you do private aviation, there is decent hours and really good money to be had. The companies who flew our fixed wing and helicopters had really great schedules. I guess it’s a hit or miss type of deal

Anyone been up anywhere in the trucks recently? Thinking of taking a trip to Yankee hill or Nederlands just wondering how much snow is up there yet

Funny you ask...just today they told me I should be taking it into the shop for repair immediately because it's unsafe to drive. Thanks for telling me 3 months later. Gonna drop it off today.

I'm a pilot (with thousands of hours multi engine with Army) and went into Finance when they told me the working hours/ conditions/ pay. Still know a few that went that route and it's a grind to get the multi engine hours to ever get consideration either private or Commercial and Commercial it heads and shoulder better than 90% of the private stuff out there.

It's all on the individual, I flew (CO NG) with several Medevac pilots and the pay was Ok but not as good as guys flying the Offshore Rig stuff (better hours too, 14 days on, 14 off). Also know the former Controller for Air Methods and all their constant battles with pilots over Pay, so it can't be that good especially considering the inherent risk. They use the glut of ex-military pilots to keep salaries down.

You wouldn't believe what a Commercial Captain Pilot (large aircraft) makes flying just 12 days a month.
