Can someone tell me what percent tint the stock 2012 Tacoma has on rear windows? I was going to match the front with the back and I can’t find it and I’ve heard it’s 35 or 20 but 20% is illegal in some states.

    That seems backward.

Closer to 20% if you have the dark factory tint. I can tell you 20% llumar film matches very well. I’ve seen other trucks with basically no tint though, so I guess it varies some.

That being said, our 4Runner has 15% all around except the front windows at 35%, and it looks good too. It all blends together. Anything look better than the Untinted windows of a factory-fresh truck.

Actually the front is lighter the the back because of the factory tint. So there for the back is darker and the front is lighter

I think I follow - you were talking about the tint you used, not the transmission rating of the window. 25% tint probably gave you something like 10% if they were already tinted.

Yeah sure that sounds right. Hell if I know. Told the shop what I wanted that’s what they did

No idea what it is because the previous owner did it. What I do know is that it's illegal where I currently live.

Nothing I love more than tinted windows. Best thing I’ve ever done was have the whole windshield tinted.

Windshield is a 70% ceramic. Pretty light but it made a huge difference being such a big piece of glass.

I have always had all my vehicles tinted all around even in Cali. Cali didn’t do limo but did 20% in Vegas limo on all cars with front windshield at 35%. My taco now the front windows are 20% and rear is 15% because wife drives it sometimes and complains about the limo. I have learned that cops only gave me a hard time is when I was doing dumb shot. I have never had front plates to. So I always have a reason to be stoped if they really wanted to.

I had 20% on my front windows for 11 years. All of a sudden this year it was an issue when trying to find an inspection sticker. So I had to scrape the tint and now I'm back at 0%. I feel like a vampire who is seeing the sun for the first time.

Anyone have pictures of what 50% looks like? That's the legal max for front side windows here and I want to see if it's even worth doing.

I did 45% because that's the max here in MA. I'll get some pics for you later.

I have 5% all around. Took about a week to get used to, but I actually like it.
