Just thoughts and observations no idea if there is anything to it might be interesting if you are close enough to it to go look at it. Check the seat bolts for rust in the back bolts or storage well , rear jump seat etc. Look under the front end for wrinkled or broken paint. And run the vin through the systems in that article etc hell I imagine if you called your insurance agent explain your possible interest in it but your concerns they may be able to exactly pin point it's original location sold etc.

My 10 RC had 6500 miles in October 2012 when I got it. Turned in lease. I paid 17k.

Besides the RC thing (which is all I need), I'm in a cold area.

I looked up the dealerships yelp reviews, they seem like a unlegit car dealer. Several reviews reported body damage that had been covered up by the dealer.

I’d orobably pass, I typically stear clear of small indie car dealers. At least most of them in the area I live in have sketchy cars.

That's my uncle's. He has two of them. That one's a '71, and it's actually quite easy to drive despite not having power steering or brakes...

    Not having power period.

Dad had a ‘72. I don’t think that thing had more than 60 horsepower. He hardly ever drive over 55 mph in it.

After sitting for a few years you'd probably want to replace the fluids, and put new gas in it.

    @Plain Jane Taco

That old church they're converting into a house...

They've finally installed the central A/C! Not that any of these 5 units will be needed anytime soon...

    image.jpg

And to give you an idea of how big this place is, one of the workers told me that more are going to be installed!

Here's the info i can pull from the DMV..
    Built in september 2009
Shipped to dealership in Massachusetts 11/2009
Sold 11-20-2009 with 102 miles on it
The original owner owned it until it was traded in at a dealer in NJ..
At which point it was sent to auction.. (this rings an alarm)
It was purchased at Auction for 9,175
and is currently on a dealer lot..
The Current Suggested Retail price for it is 10,657
The Trade value (What the original owner got for it) was 7,860

The Actual Black Book value, which is what most car dealers actually use..
    is: 13,125

So really not a great deal..
    I guess...

    Oh Original MSRP: 19,380

The rear bumper is tweaked, the front bumper cover looks to have a wider gap at one side than the other, which to me looks like a frame damage issue.. though it is possible the original owner was old and ran into the garage and just bent the bumper and or support, you would need to look at it.. But, i have a feeling, that based on the fact that it was traded in at a dealership, and auctioned rather than selling it, sounds to me that there was something seriously wrong with it..

    Anyway,
The above info is what i can see, there is no flood damage, it was never titled in Texas, there is no totalled damage/reported accidents on the reports to the DMV, cops were never called to an accident with it.. which makes me think it was an old man that ran into a garage..

    Good luck..

    Yeah...

    I'll keep mine!

It's paid for, it's never had frame damage, and I know it's history!

The window sticker on my 2010 RC was like a little over $17K, and it was manufactured around the same time as this red one. How is it that this well-equipped Taco was only a little more than two grand more than my base model RC?

The night my dad bought my RC, the only other brand new 2WD Taco on the lot that I saw was virtually identical to the one features in this thread. The only major difference was that it had an automatic transmission, and I believe the interior was beige. The sticker on that one was over $20K!
