Thanks man! Going to get out there and give it a try!

Trying to decide if I want to color match the surround today or not. I need to drive the truck in about two hours so that may not be the best idea, but I would rather get it all done in one "swoop." Maybe I will ask my brother to pick me up if it's not all done yet...

I hate when that happens. And they get confused when there is no room in the overhead.

As someone who flys A LOT, i mean more than some pilots (Did 50K butt in seat miles in November alone) I can't stand when people do this, and they try to get it to fit...its the same BS

Gate Attendant | Flight Attendant: Sir/Ma'am you might have to check that bag it doesn't look like its going to fit, you can try to see if it fits in the in the carry on size "thingy" over there

Passenger: I am sure it will fit

    As they enter the plane....

Flight Attendant: Sir/Ma'am you can try to see if that fits but I don't think it will, if it doesn't you will have to gate check it

Passenger: takes the bag, trys to cram it into the overhead cigar box, looks dumbfounded their 22" hard shell carry on doesn't fit, holds up the boarding...then tries to fight the flow of passengers boarding to drop his bag off with at the jetbridge baggage attendant

I really can't stand people who don't take the 5 minutes to think before they go to the airport....

And don't get me started on all the TSA pre-check people they have now who don't read up on how to go through pre-check...thats why I pay for clear...

This is why airlines should charge people for using overhead storage, and let people check bags for free. Boarding would be quicker, and you still have the shoe box size under the seat in front of you to put a laptop bag/purse/murse etc...

I enjoy the puddle jumper prop planes. But rarely get to fly on them.

I wouldn't totally agree, but i think you have a point...what I have thought about a ton, probably too much... through out my years of travel.

    1. Universal Standard Compartment sizes for "same size" airplanes, 777-300ER has the same overhead as the A350-1000 and so on, they are close but not really
    2. Couple 1 with a universal standard luggage size, as in S, M, L but 18", 22", 34" and have them truly be those sizes; I can't explain it but my Tumi 18" carry on, is not the same as my old Briggs and Riley 18" carry on. They try to do this with International vs Domestic sized luggage...I think my point is not clear but hopefully you get the idea, make no hard sides, or soft-sides, or whatever...
    3. Forbid carry on luggage for certain plane sizes, not personal items like backpack, but luggage.
    4. Make Flight attendants who are "catching a ride" check their bags, give the flight attendants working the flight dedicated overhead/cabin space...Trust me they take more for a 3 day trip than I do for a month long trip, you see their roller bag, with a hook that has a smaller roller back on it as a backpack plus a "backpack" size bag on top of those two slipped down over the handle...and if they are female they usually have a purse. They do have dedicated space but with all of their bags, they take overhead space that is usually reserved for passengers.

These are some of the stuff I have tossed around as I sit in my seat watching in experienced travelers fight to do what I see as a simple action, boarding a plane, but then again I am jaded because I fly so much and I too was once one of "those" flyers.

Puddle Jumpers, you can have them, lol.

Edit: and before someone jumps on me about the flight attendants and all of their bags, I understand their travel can change at a moments notice, and often does, but seriously pilots are the only ones that should be able to take more than 3 bags with them, their pilot briefcase, their main luggage and their smaller backpack/luggage. For my three day business trips I can fit everything into my Go Ruck Gr1 26L, which includes clothes for business, work out clothes and shoes, and all my tech gear which is a shit ton since I am computer engineer...

Anyway I guess it is all relative.

Agreed. Especially on point 3. Regional jets are cramped enough. I usually only travel for 3-4 days at a time, and carry a duffel bag that'll fit just about anywhere.

That is correct reason. I just sent it to our group chat and asked my buddy to send it out on our email list.
