How is UGA's offensive line not getting a shit ton of credit...???

Not to take away from the athleticism and ability of UGA's running backs, but, they have opened up holes for em, AND given Fromm ample time to make some important throws when needed.

    Unsung heros......

I’ll have a lot of heart attacks, but I’ll take it if it’s getting Ws.

    Sharp said it best:

If OU’s offense and UGAs defense ends up being a push, who do you give the edge to: UGAs offense or OU’s defense?

OU doesn’t have a defense. Which is how we won that game. Michel and Chubb combined for over 320 rushing yards. That’s pretty impressive.

depends on the loss, and what the rankings were (because I don't know what they were).

I lobby that regular season is different than post season though. Teams EARN the post season game, shouldn't be hurt as much for a loss.

If you want to compare team to team, Alabama vs Wisconsin, and say you're going to pick the better one....they both had 1 loss, Wisconsin lost to OSU and Alabama lost to Auburn. OSU > Auburn. Wisconsin played an extra game so 12-1 compared to 11-1 which means they won a higher percentage of their games. SoS is arguably equal with how the teams are at the end of the season (meaning FSU isn't great).

so selecting Alabama over Wisconsin literally was "we THINK Alabama is better because of namesake".

obviously yes because that's exactly what happened?

But he redeemed himself with the game winning TD. I felt bad for the kid. He had only fumbled one other time this season...

Yeah. Get used to the defense looking like sloths in the first half. Its really frustrating, especially if the offense isn't producing. But, the second half, the defense should give the offense plenty of stops to catch up....if they have to.

It is very, very frustrating. Even for the opponent, haha.

My wife can probably tell you how many times I've screamed at Nick Saban to just fucking run the score up in the first half....make adjustments at half, and coast......but nooooo.....

    Vanilla offense first half...

Kudos to Kirby for giving him the opportunity to redeem. I'm not sure Saban would have done that....probably to his detriment.

So, now, you have two teams damn near built identically, playing for the national championship, with quite similar play calling and personnel.

Gonna come down to the trench play and a big play here or there.

I give UGA the edge with two running backs that they correctly utilize (rolling my eyes at you Bama).

Especially with the depleted ranks at LB with Alabama.

There is a flaw here. What if you have a team in the CCG that has 3 losses? Or possibly 4, but won their division?

What if they end up winning the CONFERENCE?

I've kind of felt this way all year, and in previous years....

It feels like, Alabama has to go undefeated to get the respect of other fan bases.

If they lose one game, they dont deserve to be in. Period.

But, other teams and other conferences can lose a game and its ok. Kinda weird.

there is always an issue somewhere, but in that situation you could lobby that that conference is just stronger/tougher to win throughout (the way the SEC has been arguing for years now).

I don't think a 3 or 4 loss team will ever be considered for a 4 team playoff, so sort of a moot point.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH BAMMERS!!!!

You literally had your team NOT GO UNDEFEATED and GET REWARDED and you want RESPECT?!!!!

UCF went undefeated and GOT ZERO RESPECT. Wisconsin would've only received respect IF THEY HAD GONE UNDEFEATED.

To say "alabama has to go undefeated, but other teams don't" is asinine WHEN WISCONSIN LITERALLY HAD TO GO UNDEFEATED

I'm not getting in the middle of this shitstorm, but let's not lump UCF into this conversation. They played one power-5 team this year before the Peach Bowl... Historical powerhouse Maryland.. They get no respect b/c there is nothing there to respect.

Sucks for non-Power5 teams, but they'll never get to the playoff as long as it's 4 teams.

Bama is a victim to its own success. Saban has been so dominant over the past almost 10 years now that Bama is held to a higher standard than the rest. If Bama DOESN'T go undefeated then they are trash and don't deserve anything that another team that only loses once would get. You can argue this til you are blue in the face but that is the facts. Why do you think everywhere you look you see "We Want Bama" signs. Bama is the standard of college football so we are held at a higher standard. Frankly, there are some Bama fans that are worried about UGA being an up and comer...I welcome UGA to the top of the mountain. They have the opportunity to steal some of the spotlight off of Bama and change the standard and will bring Bama down off their pedestal and higher requirements.

Ok I agree with you, non-Power 5 yes.

Wisconsin LITERALLY was required to go undefeated though, and above he says "Bama gets no respect if they aren't undefeated but other teams can lose a game" REALLY?!
