    Great stuff OP.
I'm curious..it looks like your universal mounts attach at the bed rail, but also "sit" on the edge of the bed where is sticks out. Do your hi-lift mounts rest on that lip as well? I don't like the idea of the weight of it all hanging from the bed rails so I would prefer whatever system "sits" the weight on that lip.

The hi-lift mounts are about an inch shorter than the universal mounts, however with the weight of the lift spread across 2 points on the rail its more than enough to hold it and not do any damage.

I have personally taken my jack across mountain passes, to multiple off road parks, and into many fields and have not heard any rattles or have any indication of damage what so ever. So i am confident when i say that 2 points of contact is plenty.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do your universal brackets actually touch that lip, as it appears?
If so, can those be used to mount the hi lift or will it be too close the the bed wall for the hilift foot?

One more question...are you using the more expensive T slot nuts these days or still the regular ones?

The universal brackets do not "sit" on the rails, but it is very close to it.

And yeah you can mount a hi-lift and a shovel on the universal mounts.
This was before i started making the hi-lift specific mounts.

And no i do not sell the t slot nuts. I have carriage bolts that the heads fit in the bed channels, nuts, and washers.

I really dig these, but I wish they rested on that lip. I know the bed rail system is strong, and will prob hold up ok, but overbuilt is even better. Having it rest on that lip would eliminate any flex and sheer factor.

Anyhoo....has anybody mounted a 60" hilift in a short bed using these hi ift mounts? I know the top will need to be altered or removed but I want to keep the base plate attached.

On the hi lift mounts, what is the distance from the bedrail to the jack mounting surface? I am mounting a 60" hi lift and to clear the base it needs to be 2.5" from the rail.
    Thanks

Are you talking about this base plate??
If so then my universal mounts for sure will not be able to mount the hi-lift with the base plate attached. What i have seen i where people attach the base to the lift...

No, just the regular base for the hi lift. It will fit a 60" in a short bed but it needs to be 2.5" away from the rails to fit.

Thanks. The 48" fits well right against the rails, but the 60 needs some clearance unless you want to remove the base plate and cut off a few inches from the top.

    Anxious to know your dimensions.
    Thanks!

It doesn't have a larger base, but due to its length, part of it goes all the way to the tailgate and back there is that metal part that sticks out. Maybe I can get a pic for ya.
