Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

Yeah I have posted there also. If I can find someone to help then I could do it sooner. Just trying to see if anyone out there near me would help and yeah I have somewhere to do it.

 

Spotted a red 2nd gen with TRD wheels, frontrunner rack, snorkel and what looked like pelfreybuilt armor at the Home Depot on Virginia Beach Boulevard, Anyone know someone with a truck like that?

So you are the lucky one... I have followed that truck on some crazy trails. It is a beast!

 

I am the lucky one! took it to Uwharrie, and had a blast. She loved the trails. Come springtime the plan is to hit more trails. We will have to do some wheelin

 

Definitely, trying to get Brandon motivated now to go out...

 

He has that awesome Land Cruiser now, I can't imagine him not itching to take it out.

 

Still needs a bit of work. Mainly neglected maintenance stuff.

 

Well once he gets it put back together we should plan a meet up. I'm fairly new to the area especially the offload community so definitely looking for some wheeling.

 

I’m always up for wheeling. Rausch is next on the list for me, haven’t made it up there yet

 

If you want to drive down to Chesapeake, I can offer my garage and tools. I should have everything we need.

@StAndrew you said you’ve done a timing belt and water pump on the 3.4 before?

 

Yeah I can load every thing up and cruise down that way when everything comes in. Very much appreciated!

I have. You looking to do it? Probably have to do it at your place and would consider making it a 2 day job if you can. I think with two hands we can do it in a day but with trucks this old, things tend to not cooperate. I would consider buying a new harmonic balancer as well. Mine was seized on the crank and I damaged it removing it. The rubber dampening was also dry rotted.

When you thinking about doing it?

 

Yes I am due for it, the only place I could do a job like that is the hobby shop I am geo batching at the moment. Its a cali car until I came here so most things come off pretty easy.

 

We can make a day out of it. Let me know when. I work some weekends and travel a bit so give me a week or two heads up.
