Wow... I wonder how many from my generation will be able to say that at any point in their lives. We seem to want to jump ship much more frequently. That being said, I'm only starting on year 11 so I have some catching up to do!

Good afternoon, I know I’m kinda late on this but I’ve used Interstate batteries since I was a kid. My dad swore by that brand till today. It’s all I use when replacing a battery. Never had one let me down. I generally get 6-8 years outta them. Just my $.02

My company has changed ownership several times in my career, but I've always kept my job titles, seniority, and benefits. Just different names on the trucks and different levels of management ...or mismanagement, depending on who's running the show this year. I can honestly say at this point, I've seen them all come and go.
More than anything, I've surprised myself, expecting a short term gig for 6 months and ended up staying for the long haul.

My factory battery lasted over 6 years. After looking around, the stock battery seemed to have the best balance of CCAs and capacity for a similar price to aftermarket batteries.

I've had good luck with those. A guy I know runs a boat shop and that's all he carries.

Dang that's pretty cool. For my 5 year I got laid off, then a certificate of appreciation for my loyalty for 5 years, then rehired

They didn't make that much of a fuss for my 10 year, you should feel honored.

I got a Stihl Chainsaw and a Victorinox watch for my 30th, but that was with the previous company.
Next year, it'll be nothing with the new outfit. :notsure:

I'm on 14 years at my place and am one of the lower seniority guys (other than senior leadership). In my 14 years, the name has changed 4 times and I don't recall any plant manager lasting more than 2 years. Several years before I started, their name changed twice in just over 30 days due to government mandated divestiture. As long as the check doesn't bounce, it'll do.

Same for me. Best I can hope for is the higher seniority people to retire.

I'm @ year #11 as well. I've read that you make more money if you jump ship often. However, I actually really like my job and there aren't too many openings in my field in this area anyways. I just got them to install my own mini-split unit in my office so I can control the temperature, which is pretty awesome. I started in the design office and worked my way down to the research lab. My 5th anniversary at the lab is the end of this month. It was the start of all good things that happened since then, house, wife, baby.

My company changed names a bunch of times in the past, we changed 3 times since I was there. The first sale was a huge plus for everyone. The second was just a merger that didn't change day to day operations. I actually got a DSLR for 10 years, which was pretty awesome.
