is there a way so shut off the seat belt alarm on a 2009 Tacoma?

Shoot, I wish I had an Offroad instead of the Sport to do the locker mod, abs, VSC stuff detailed earlier.

How much are you willing to pay for me to tell you the code that turns the seat belt chime off?

No, I'm not kidding. I have the code and tested it on my '08 Taco.

OK, I give. Here it is. BTW you guys are no fun :

1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.


Works for 2009-2010 etc

Does this work for the passenger beep as well?

 

Yes. No seat belt alarms. The dash light does continue to blink though. Don't think anyone has figured out how to disable that yet. Ken

 

done and so much nicer with out that annoying beep!

 

It worked on my '09. I nearly always wear a seat belt because I'm not a dumbass but on that rare occasion like hunting or something, it is very nice not to listen to that bitch nag.

 

same here plus my pooches ride with me and when it sets the alarm on the passenger seat off cause they are hopping from the front to back on long trip its pretty dang annoying! and then they bark at it and that is even more annoying. i only not wear it when i am doing short 2-3 minutes trips too.

It should. Invest 30 seconds of effort into the mod and find out for sure.

Just remember if you disconnect your battery you'll have to do it again.

 

Just did this.

I could not get it to work at first. I wanted to disconnect passenger side since dog sits there. I tried plugging in passenger side, and it did not work.

It worked when i plugged in drivers side. Doggie happy now.

 

Awesome tip!! Thank-you for posting this code and saving me from the annoying beep whenever the dog rides shotgun. Reminds me of a weapon code on Playstation but for big boy toys.
