CMC rust prevention

A local shop cut my cab mount and covered it up with bed liner. From what I’ve read bed liner really isn’t much of a rust prevention. Mixed with their deep cut and poor rust prevention, should I be worried? As you can tell, there just so happened to be a snow storm and road salt when they chopped it as well.



Have there been any known occurrences of cab mounts completely rusting through from the mod? Suppose you’d be SOL if that happened?

 

The long term issue would be Toyota refusing a frame replacement because of frame modification.

 

Could always just remove the bedliner after winter, and hit it with some frame coating from Eastwood or something. Or let it build a slight layer of surface rust and prep/coat with POR15.

 

Will probably do this.

 

Is this one of his fears?
