    Welcome. Before anyone can provide suggestions, how do *you* want to use the truck? Overlanding? Rock crawling? Mall crawling? If you don't know, read some of the other build threads, watch the regional forum for meetups, etc. With that information and a budget you'll be able to start planning your own build. Lots of information here, use the search function. Lots of opinions too.

    This is my first Tacoma and my first 4x4. So I'm not sure what trouble I can get into before I do any mods whatsoever. I'm not even sure what advantages the DCLB has but I wanted something I could sleep in the back of so the LB was important.

    I had a 95 2wd ranger that lasted 20 years so I think I'll be mostly using my tacoma for fun things.

    Perhaps I'll keep an eye out for meetups that seem fun and go look at what other people have done.

    Being new is weird. But I love my truck already. Was at the Seahawks game. Left early because Atlanta won and I wanted to drive around before the new year's drunks got on the road. So far I'm exploring options.
