What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Anyone know of a good retrofit install thread? I tried searching but the only thing I can find is how to make retrofits but not install.. thnx dudes

If you cant fit your fingers behind the torque converter its all the way in.

 

They're the clapped out stockers, you'd laugh at how flat they are unloaded. I just ordered a pair of interim CS019R leafs until I figure out if I want to do 63s.

 

Awesome. It's jacked up ready to go in, just trying to align it with the dowel pins.

 

If I were to do it again or on another truck I’d do 63’s.

Especially if I could weld.

 

I'm doing it thrice now and I still cannot decide. The Dakars are cheap enough that I can run them while I make up my mind, and I know they perform well from my green truck.

I'd only go with 63s if crawling was my priority.

 

One of the things that would get me is if I were carrying half of weight constantly, but maybe that’s not an issue, can’t remember.

Don’t get me wrong, I like myself Alcans, I just feel they’re over kill for me.

 

Yeah, LT is the plan for the front, I am undecided on how I am going to get the back up to snuff. Right now the stockers are unacceptable (so worn out and flat) as this last trip proved so Dakars are the interim.

 

Lost all hydraulic pressure in my transmission jack. Shit. No idea how I'm going to get the transmission out now since I can't lift up the jack anymore.

 

The BlueSea fuse block is rated at 100 amps with a max of 30 amps per circuit.

 

Make sure the bleed screw on the jack isnt loose.

 

is the transmission started with some bolts tight?
