I am wondering how long it took some of you to get your 2018 trucks. The sales person I am dealing with said it would take 12-16 weeks from order to delivery. I ordered and put a deposit down over a month ago and still haven’t received a build date. Is this normal? Once you receive the build date how far out was delivery?

I don’t want to be a squeaky wheel but I do need to stay on the time line I was quoted.

    Thanks

I ordered mine on 10DEC2017 and was told I would have it by the end of JAN2018 but potentially the beginning of FEB2018, so about 8 weeks or sooner. I also have not received a build date either but I just emailed my dealership last night asking if the process has started, no answer yet.

I don't know if it helps, but when I ordered my 2017 it took between 3 and 4 months, it's worth the wait to get what you want.

I put a deposit on a TRD Pro in Cavalry Blue, with the manual transmission back at the end of August. Heard from them today that I'll have it in March, or the latest, April. Probably varies a lot by build and region.

Just heard back from my salesperson, she stated:
"The truck should be here between the 9th and the 12th of this month (yeah!). I have noted the changes you mentioned...bed mat and color matching door edge guards, no grille. I will touch base when we are closer to arrival date!"

Mine is a 2018 Cement TRD Off-Road double cab short bed 6 speed manual. Hope that helps OP.

On my Truck it took about 3 weeks from the Build Date to arrival at the Dealership, might be different for each area of the Country.

Ordered mine on the day the system at the dealership allowed it in early November and I had it end the first week of December.
DCLBOR, too, which can be tough to find.

Dealer just got the exact truck I wanted. Didn't plan on buying a new truck since mine was 9 months old. But I was in for 10k service and ac blower motor replacement. Took the new truck for 24 hours bought it next day. They had the 2018 trd or blue pearl manual trans on the lot for a few hours and said it was the first manual they've had on the lot in years... lucky I guess

I put a deposit down on a MGM TRD off-road 6mt with tech and premium on 11/30. Still no build date... was told the dealer was getting their next round of allocations on Jan 2nd and hopefully mine would be allocated. I’m assuming it wasn’t since I have heard from them.

First off thanks for the feedback, now I know I am not alone waiting. Ordered Dec 5th. Misery definitely loves company.

Second I’ve got a build date! The sales guy checked today. Feb 14th! #lovetruck Delivery (CO) should happen early March.

So I asked for a temp VIN and he said that we won’t get a vin till the truck was built. Is this true?

@KanPanic congrats!! a VIN shouldn't be assigned until the vehicle has began the build process and then it is issued a VIN, at least that was my understanding.

If you got a build date of 1/18/18, Is that the start or finish date? How long does it take for a truck to go through the assembly line?

When I ordered my ‘17 last year I got a build date the next day after putting down the deposit and it was to be assembled and delivered 2 weeks later. I backed out last minute because I changed my mind on color and luckily the sister store had one coming in on a truck with what I got on originally and I’m the color I wanted.

I think it’s it’s less than a day. I have heard the figure, “300 (trucks) per shift or one ever 85 seconds”. It was one the internet so you know it’s true.
