What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

None. I couldn't even align it with the dowel pins.

 

I love the 63s, but I'm not into the go-fast as much as you. They outperform the Dakars by leaps and bounds in my opinion.

I probably wouldn't bother going with the Chevy's if the eventual plan is to LT the rear as well, you'd have to weld the stock hangers back on for SUA.

 

Wouldn't go high enough? Should be able to lower it down.

 

Tight as can be. The front of jack slanted up so only two wheels are on the ground.

The bellhousing is hooked on the power steering rack. I can't lower the jack or make it higher.

 

can you lift the back of trans by hand to gedt the wheels on the ground. Then lower it.

When you say lost pressure. It wont even hold the trans up at all?

 

I have used decent quality ratcheting straps. Run both hooks up and over the frame one in front one in rear. Lifted a turbo 350 2ft off the ground, and was able to pivot and tilt due to not being strapped down to a trans jack.

 

This trick works well haha, we did this with a Mopar 727, it was tippy but damn does it work.

 

I got it out with cribbing and a hi-lift jack - it lost pressure because the two front wheels were off the ground. It's working again now let's see what happens.

 

Might need fluid if that's crippling it, you can use ATF as ghetto jack fluid

 

Haha same 78 chevy had the trans jack shit out on me with the 208..? Gear drive tcase from full 2ish ft up. It smashed onto the top of my hand on concrete, threw the trans jack in the dumpster. Couldnt jack off for 3 months

 

This jack is dead. After I got it on the ground, it managed to work again but it won't go past a certain height while pumping the handle does nothing.

I bought it Used off CL, maybe I got a bad one. I'll see if I can bleed it maybe? I have no idea at this point I'm just going to buy a new one.

 

I guess you only have one hand and no girlfriend.

 

Maybe I worded that bad, yes it held up the transmission still but pumping the handle does nothing.

 

2 a week for 3 years. It was highschool times.

 

Its low on fluid. Pour some atf in the little plug.

 

I'll try that, do I have to bleed it?
