2018 Tacoma MT ecu is completely different, Working on support now.

Binary size, logic, mapping, etc. Nothing at all the same.

Are any '18 users reporting the same issues with drivability?

Wondering the same. Might have to make a trip to the dealer to test drive an '18 for comparison.

Hm. Probably a result of TSS being added. Seems unlikely to me that they went in to fix any of the drivability issues that are discussed here. Either way, definitely interested in any changes they made.

Has anyone run the OVTune on an 18? Are the maps available for both 87 and 91 octane?

It does have the jerky lug at low rpm at light throttle. Also it's not as progressive on throttle application. Not terrible but could be better. I haven't driven a 17 or 16 manual, there is just not that many around.

Read the treads above. The 18 has a different ECU so Matt is working on it. I guess I'll be the first to give it a go.

I have a 18' with a MT. Power seems good, but with like most smaller displacement engines, it is not as torquey as my 06' Tacoma with MT I traded in. It actually feels a lot like a newer Subaru WRX. You don't feel it in the seat in of your parts but see it in your speedometer. I'm sure this truck would beat my other in a race but my old trucks torque curve made me feel like I was in a v8.

Just received my package from OV. Been following these threads since the beginning but just a few weeks ago deciding to jump on the band wagon.
Quick question, the answer I don't remember seeing. Have a older laptap running Windows 10 and an Asus 100t tablet also running windows 10
After loading all software into them. Later, will I be able to use both these units to flash my ECU with? Or must I pick one to be the dedicated puter. Reason being . Because of ample usb ports on my much larger 18" laptop it'll be easier to do the initial flash. My Tablet though is much smaller and easier to transport, but only has a weird combo USB 3.0 micro-B port.( for which I found an adapter to usb2). I can then play with it later after my intial flash to see if I get it to work as well and leave it in my truck permanently.

I believe it was said that you can use a dongle with multiple outlets if the computer doesn't have enough available.

If you own a '18 you might as well hold off until Matt figures out the new ECU. I'm hoping it's not a long process.

Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
Just hit 6k on my 1.03 93 octane tune. 04B11 ECU no degradation and power has stayed consistent the entire time. Flashed to stock this morning as the truck will be at the dealership today and tomorrow having LCA bushings replaced and getting 35k service.

I got shipping info before it was shipped, and then tracking info when it was on it's way. I have gone through the activation process and sent my READ file to Matt last night. Now I think I just wait for the tune in my email and upload it to the truck. I will let you all know how the PRO TACO does after the flash. FYI I always run 93oct here in NC.
