Anyone have a sunroof put into their 2006 Taco?? I am thinking of having an automatic one installed far enough back to retain the overhead console... Is this possible or is the wiring such that I will be unable to do this?

Yea - 1400 is a lot considering that I am getting a 3'' lift and halo projectors installed for 600 and a case of beer total (parts AND labor)...

I'll skip the sunroof as much as I want one...

Mine had one when I bought it; same brand Wabasto or whatever. It's cool but it makes a little noise here and there when you go over a bump :/ Wouldn't put it in if I were you.

Executive Motors in Pittsburgh (http://www.executivemotorsinc.com/index.htm) did the sunroof in my Mazda Tribute. I called them recently to ask about putting in a sunroof on my 09 double cab and he noted some issues I would have.

First off, the truck is wider than most cars or SUV's and a heavy sunroof will pull down on the center of the roof, caving everything toward it. They would recommend some additional bracing ($$$) to hold the roof up.

As noted everywhere else, they want $1400 for the electrical one that slides into the cab (hidden by the fabric). They want $500 for a moon roof (just pivots up) and $800 for one that slides above the roof and is visible from outside.

They do offer a lifetime warranty on their products.

    Its a bicycle.
i think they're full of it when it comes to roof sag, i have been looking at webasto's internal sliders on PDF for a while now (its the one thing about taco's that bugs me.)

and both of the ones i looked at had plent of bracing with them.

and i was looking at panoramics and two panes...

Take it for what it's worth but I called a local installer of Webasto products for an estimate and was told the 710 model isn't a good idea in the Tacoma because of the roof ridges.Something about the seal not matching up well which may cause a problem in time.

No roof sag in mine. I'll take a pic one of these days and post it.

Still though.. I could care less if it were there.
